I also think most Americans, may not approve with everything the President does, still feels he is an honest man and would never do anything like this.
We can hope this book goes the way of madam speaker and stays in the bottom half of the top 2000 books.

Obviously I have only read the news accounts of what is in the book and not the book itself, which I’m in no hurry to read. My thought is, it’s the easy false claim to make, but on the other hand if you are going to assume they would go to the extent of forging documents, then you have to wonder why they wouldn’t forge more devastating documents. I mean, if you were so corrupt as to be willing to manufacture evidence, what prevents you from manufacturing evidence of say, Iranian involvement? Look at how vexatious the Iranian standoff has been. If the administration had resorted to forgery in this minor and peripheral way as Suskind suggests with regard to Saddam Hussein and the Iraqi threat, wouldn’t they have used it to involve Iran (or anything more significant that what Suskind asserts)? Which is why I am suspicious and doubt the story completely.
I think he is a lying SOS. This guy is nothing but a hatchet man.
He is a journalist. I cannot think of a more vulgar epithet.
This is an especially egregious example of journalistic exhibitionism. No accusation is too wild to flaunt. Suskind is wagging his theory out there in public hoping someone will notice.

Would’ve probably had a lot more credibility if it had come out before all of the Yellow cake uranium from Iraq had arrived in Canada! I’ve shut quite a few people up lately by telling them to google” Iraqi yellow cake arrives in Canada” and read what it says. If that isn’t a WMD I don’t know what is!
I heard the author interviewed on NPR this morning. Amazingly, the NPR interviewer really grilled Suskind, who was somewhat evasive in his answers. I would like to have seen Richard Miniter interviewed at the same time.
