Actually the NAZI Party's real name was the NDSAP, or Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, which translates to National Socialist German Workers' Party

Thanks for the correction. Where did the acronym NAZI come from?

My bad, I have a typo, it was the NSDAP, not NDSAP.

I believe the term NAZI was an abbreviation adopted because the even the mnemonic NSDAP was cumbersome; kind of like the term “GOP” (Grand Old Party) was for the Republicans.
