I actually looked at my gas log that I have maintained since buying my car in 2004. When the Dems were elected in November ‘06, regular gas was at $239.9/gallon in our valley just north of the San Fernando Valley. When the Dems took office in January of ‘07 it had risen to $243.9/gallon. Two months later it had risen $.54/gallon to cost $307.9/gallon. Our high for regular here was $459.9/gallon. Since GWB lifted the Presidential ban on offshore drilling it has fallen $.60/gallon.....today at $399.9/gallon for regular. I'd love to see a Republican ad touting these statistics!

We’d all love to see the GOP touting the statistics you show, however, IMHO, neither party wants prices to drop too far.

If the prices drop too much it will be bad for the Dems as it will be a positive for the sitting GOP president thus a positive for his coat-tail leeches.

If the prices drop too much it will be bad for certain GOP’ers as it will dip into their pockets.
