You wuld think that with all the railing they do against ‘McCarthyism’ the hollywood liberals would recognize it when they are guilty of it.

Selleck was never a movie star to begin with. And he’s had recurring roles on ‘Boston Legal’ and ‘Las Vegas’ recently.

Gary Sinis (of Lt. Dan in Forest Gump) heads up a conservative group in Hollywood of 'closet' conservatives.

Besides meeting together, the Hollywood right is now teaming up to create an upcoming movie called "An American Carol" which pokes fun at anti-Americanism among liberals and how their disdainful attitudes sometimes end up helping Ameria's enemies. All of this is detailed in Hayes's article. This is a movie every conservative needs to see.

Kudos to director David Zucker for coming up with the concept and for being willing to come all the way out of the conservative closet.

At this stage of his career, with his place secure and his fortune made, he can do this. Threats by whiny Hollyweird milquetoasts won't faze him.

The fact that this is making news says more about Hollyweird than they really want, I am guessing.

~~ Good guys PING!

And let's not forget Gary Sinise, who's been backing up our troops for years, visiting them in far flung bases with his Lt. Dan Band, as well as funding his foundation, which furnishes school supplies for Iraqi kids. God bless him!

Hollywood's conservative underground - 'Friends of Abe' group meets quietly

Snippet:

A group of politically conservative and centrist Hollywood figures organized by actor Gary Sinise and others has been meeting quietly in restaurants and private homes, forming a loose-knit network of entertainers who share common beliefs like supporting U.S. troops and traditional American values.

n his first series role in 40 years, Jon Voight has signed on for the upcoming seventh season of “24.”

On the Emmy-winning Fox drama, Voight will play Jack Bauer’s (Kiefer Sutherland) uber-nemesis who is pulling the strings behind next season’s terrorist threat.

The character will be introduced during “24’s” two-hour Season 7 prequel and will be featured heavily in the latter half of the season.

The prequel, now shooting on location in South Africa, is slated to air Nov. 23, with Season 7 of the Imagine TV/20th TV-produced series kicking off in January.

The tapping of Voight marks the first A-list villain casting on “24” since Season 1 when Dennis Hopper appeared in the final episodes as Serbian nationalist Victor Drazen.

Voight did several TV guest spots early in his career — including a three-episode stint on “Gunsmoke” between 1966-69 — until his movie career exploded with “Midnight Cowboy” in 1969.

A four-time Academy Award nominee, Voight won the best actor Oscar for 1978’s “Coming Home.” He recently reprised his role as Nicolas Cage’s father in “National Treasure: Book of Secrets.”

I just read the article in the Weekly Standard about the upcoming “An American Carol”. Besides being very well-written, the parts it tells about the movie tell me it will be a laugh riot (and tick off the insanely un-funny libs!). All freepers must make a great effort to see this film (opens October 3rd) and watch it grind Stone’s W into the dirt.......

When I heard that his Mission Impossible character, Mr. Phelps, was cast as a traitor in the remake of MI I vowed never to watch that movie.

No way the Mr. Phelps I knew would go turncoat.

Breitbart references Peter Bart in the above segment, and how powerful a player he is in Hollywood, as the editor of Variety. Here's his slam against Voight, upon reading his op-ed piece:

"Personally, I appreciate Voight’s fervor, but worry about his intellectual equipment. I remember that moment in the early ‘70s when Paramount offered Voight the lead role in “Love Story,” opposite Ali McGraw. Voight had just achieved stardom thanks to “Midnight Cowboy” and suddenly had his choice of roles.

As a young production executive at the studio, I was trying to push “Love Story” forward and joined colleagues in trying to interest Voight in the part. However the more we prodded, the more reluctant he became.

He finally blurted: “The character in this movie is a Harvard student. He’s bright. He reads books. I could never be believable as that smart young guy.”

Reading Voight’s op-ed piece these many years later, I realize how right he was.

Peter Bart misses the obvious point. Jon Voight was a Marxist, Hollywood liberal at the time. Mr. Voight has matured and grown since then. It seems that Mr. Bart has not.
