A young man is being held in the Rowan County Correctional Facility accused in the mob-style beating of a 47-year-old who was simply taking an evening stroll in his neighborhood.
Matthew Dwyer's eyes are blackened, his forehead stitched up and his arms scraped up. He said he was beaten by nine black teenagers.
Salisbury police said it was a racially motivated and gang-motivated crime. Dwyer is white.
Dwyer said it all started when one of his assailants said he wasn't allowed on the street, and then Dwyer was hit in the back of the head with a gun.
"And that's what sent me to the ground. That's how I got this (bump on my forehead). I hit the ground with my head, and then after that they just started kicking me," he said.
The constant kicking broke several of Dwyer's ribs. He said he doesn't know how long the beating went on, but he did hear someone say police were coming and that's when his attackers ran away.
Salisbury Deputy Police Chief Steve Whitley said the teens were wearing gang colors and are part of a well-known gang in east Salisbury.

This must be a non liberal town. Most police forces state right out that something like this isn't race motivated and probably the white guy's fault for being on the street. What a surprise statement by a police force!

I am as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow morning that these fine young chaps were out for a trip to buy ice cream for their families as a relief from the stifling heat wave that has beset us in NC and along came this crazed man who began ramming his face and other body parts into the hands of these nice young gentlemen.

.....small scale ethnic cleansing...the establishment of race-based tribal territories is occuring around the country...it’s just another little milestone on the road to the coming Civil War.
It’s a bloody hate crime! It’s not called a hate crime because hate crime laws were created for the single and express purpose of putting Whites in prison for anything that a non-White claims they did.
To the amazement and disappointment of many, the first person prosecuted under Wisconsin’s “hate crime” statute had a black skin.

Knocking an unsuspecting victim to the ground and then gang-kicking him seems to be a customary activity for black teens. I got to watch it happen to my college roommate.
