Will I’m a little confused, how many planets are there in the Solar System?

Will I’m a little confused, how many planets are there in the Solar System? Pluto was recently demoted from planet to something they are now calling a "plutoid." It was either that, or add a whole bunch of other similar bodies in our solar system to the list of what we consider planets.
This decision involved a giant slap-fight among a bunch of astronomers.

I think we all might be. There was a process of redefining what a planet was awhile back. Not sure what the final conclusion was.
