Only a year after banning all negative messages about homosexuality in public schools throughout the state, the California Legislature now is ordering school children to celebrate "gay" lifestyle choices.
"If signed into law, AB 2567 will mean an official day commemorating homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality in California government schools," said Randy Thomasson, president of the Campaign for Children and Families.
"This will harm children as young as kindergarten," he said. "Every May 22, AB 2567 will positively portray to children homosexual experimentation, homosexual 'marriages,' sex-change operations, and anything else that's 'in the closet.' Gov. Schwarzenegger should say no to this very inappropriate bill, which has nothing to do with academic excellences."
He said the passage by lawmakers of AB 2567 will require all California public schools to "conduct suitable commemorative exercises" in honor of the anti-religious, sexual-anarchy agenda of Milk, the late San Francisco supervisor who was a homosexual activist.
The California Assembly approved the plan 43-26 and the Senate 22-13, with both votes along party lines of Democrats supporting the homosexual agenda.
The plan comes on the heels of last year's school sexual indoctrination laws, Thomasson said. "When fully implemented, SB 777 and AB 394 will teach children in California government schools to support homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality via instructional materials, programs and activities, and school 'safety' guidelines," he said. "In addition, the California State School Board this year implemented SB 71 requiring public schools that provide sex education to promote unmarried sexual activity with no restraints other than mutual consent."

as I pointed out earlier, I can’t pretend to be sitting on God’s chair and be able to draw an absolute line between good and evil.
I respect the Bible, but don’t take it in its literal sense. It was written by human beings, in times hugely different from ours. Yes, the Bible has it that homosexual practises are an abomination in the eye of God. But the book also has it that the sun stood still for nigh on 48 hours to allow Joshua to destroy Jericho. For long centuries, the Church took this quotation to prove that the sun revolves around the earth. The Church even was willing to burn people who taught otherwise alive at the stake.
Which, to this observer, is by now not only criminal but also entirely obsolete and proven to be untrue.
I believe we all are trying to find our ways in a reality that is dark and unknown for a large part. The progress that humanity makes is very, very slow.
For me personally, describing homosexuals, or their ways of living, as evil, is not the route we should be taking. But other people may think otherwise.
All this is not to say that I can empathize with gays wholly. I don’t share their effeminate behavior (as gay men often display); nor do I share their love for permanent irony, their disposition to wave away the earnest topics of life, or their ‘precious’ obsessions with camp and trivia. So no, I don’t think that I would blossom as a human being in completely gay surroundings.
That’s about it, I guess, but if more replies trickle in, I’ll try to answer them seriously. The issue deserves that.
People with no standards of behavior always despise those who have them.
Without saying so, those who live by standards are “telling” those without standards that the standardless are less righteous.
Look how folks despised and jeered Noah. All he was doing was building a big box/boat on his own property with his own materials. Others despised him because he was “stating” that he would be saved from judgement and they would not.

So, with respect, I do not think it helps your case to speak of how humans, using human wisdom have misinterpreted and abused the scriptures. My belief, based on scripture, is that God created male and females differently and determined their roles. God loves us and wants the best for us. Just as we teach our children not to run into the street, God tells us not to play around with homosexuality.

Thanks go out to you too. I think I see a couple of your points - the Catholic Church abused its power in the Middle Ages to sustain, maintain that same power. Elections of a new Pope got out of hand, for instance: until new rules were made, cardinals could sit together for a year, wining and dining and being in the company of loose women (not known at the time, only much later) - hence the Reformation, later on.
I, as a heterosexual man, am instinctually drawn towards women, in a spiritual but also a corporeal way. I sense that to be ‘normal’; it comes natural to me. Since around 80% of men feel the same, it’s become human standard.
Where we disagree is, I think, the point where you think/feel that God determined the roles of the sexes and that these ‘prescribed’ roles are the best for us. I try to accept that, although to me it is counterintuïtive, that there are men and women who can feel deep and true love for someone of the same gender, and make that love a reality.
People who practise pedophilia, or parents who abuse their offspring sexually, are criminals, unqualified criminals because they ruin others for the rest of their lives. I think consenting adult homosexuals don’t do that.
I want to thank you for a stimulating discussion. We disagree, but our disagreement does not really rock the world’s foundations, I think. Homosexuality is not contagious - but I think there might be a genetic basis for it in a very complex way (gay couples don’t tend to procreate, after all...); different gene allele combinations in offspring might produce a homosexual oriëntation. In my view, that might be God’s will; people don’t usually look in a mirror one day and suddenly say to themselves: hey, from now on I am gay!
One can speculate endlessly about the meaning of homosexuality in evolution (currently I myself am engaged in speculating about the meaning of psychiatric illness like depression and compulsive disorders in evolution). I can only say one thing with certainty: that these issues are of a boundless complexity and may well be never resolved by humans.
It seems like every weird fetish and mental illness and self-destructive tendency is held up as an ideal. Now people are reverting to primitive things like body mutilation (you see many people walking about with extreme body piercings).

The fact that bacteria are present in faeces has nothing to do whatsoever with homosexual activity. It’s part of the cycle of life itself.
By ‘GBS’ you presumably are referring to what’s commonly known as ‘irritable bowel syndrome’, yes? Now, that is the result of an imbalance in the serotonergic system (linked to the neurotransmitter serotonin, or 5-hydroxytryptamine). Proof of this is that antidepressants often end IBS successfully.
I don’t like the ‘Gay Pride’ parade, in fact. It is a strange display by irritating and provocative people. But this is not the privilege of gay people, of course. All kinds of people, left, center, and right, and hetero- and homosexual can behave in an irritating and provocative way. No reason to hate gays, then.
The majority of gays hate the Gay Pride Parade (in Holland, at least) because it’s counterproductive: it does not win the hearts of non-gays at all.
