Mexican army soldiers invaded U.S. territory and held a member of the U.S. Border Patrol at gunpoint. "Unfortunately, this sort of behavior by Mexican military personnel has been going on for years," a statement from Local 2544 of the National Border Patrol Council said. The Tucson Sector Border Patrol agent was held at gunpoint near Ajo, Ariz. Mexican military personnel crossed over the border and pointed rifles at him. Judicial Watch documented 29 confirmed incidents along the U.S.-Mexican border involving Mexican military and/or law enforcement personnel in 2007. The Border Patrol union said, "A few years ago the Mexican military went a step further and put a 50 caliber rifle through the rear window of a Border Patrol agent's patrol vehicle south of Ajo. Nothing was ever done. Nobody was ever held accountable. Particularly galling is the fact that the Mexican military often pulls these stunts in Humvees donated to them by American taxpayers." Law enforcement authorities have long said Mexican soldiers have been hired to protect drug and migrant smugglers. On the Washington Times forum page, a participant said, "I'm surprised the Bush administration doesn't arrest and convict the border agents involved like they did Ramos and Compean. Don't worry, we won't have borders anyway. We'll be the North American Union and will be nothing more than a Third World oligarchy just like good old Mexico."

I would imagine the Mexicans have been emboldened by Bush, seeing how he's made American sovereignty and citizenship all but pointless.

We fought the Mexican War (1846-48) under President Polk and many of the U.S. officers were very prominent in American history. The future presidents Grant and Franklin Pierce participated. So, too, did Robert E. Lee and Jefferson Davis. The war was very unpopular, not because the U.S. didn’t have legitimate grievances against Mexico, but because the North felt it would result in an extension of slave territory. U.S. Grant, in his memoirs, said he hated the war for that reason but that Mexico was nevertheless guilty of very serious crimes against American sovereignty. In other words, the whole matter of justification for the war was obscured by the escalating and extremely controversial American domestic issue of slavery. This has, to the present day, also obscured the Mexican crimes against American national sovereignty. By the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo America paid Mexico $15 million for the ceded territory (what, about a billion or more dollars in today’s currency?). But to put this in context, the land that today seems so priceless beyond imagination, was at that time virtually worthless per acre, unsettled, undeveloped, and largely occupied by hostile Indian tribes. Given today’s PC historical revisionism this part of American history is falsely described as American “imperialism” and exploitation. The facts tell another story.

Bush-I named his oil company Zapata Oil, and Bush II named his exploration company Arbusto. There’s a definite love of all things Mexican with the Bush’s.

I read and saw several detailed accounts and descriptions of what happened to those two young girls who took a shortcut home and were attacked, tortured, raped and murdered by Medillin and his gang of illegal aliens. It was an act of savagery and barbarism that defies description. That Bush can use the pretext that if we don’t accept a foreign convention (Vienna), then the same things might happen to Americans abroad is so outrageous and absurd that I’m at a loss for words. Where has common sense and sanity gone? A late conservative justice of the Supreme Court said in his final days that he found it harder and harder each day to recognize the country he loved and served.
