Only if he never re-enters politics. As it stands now, the default position is that he's lying and he would have to get the test to clear his "good name."
From her point of view, she's getting all the money she can get and might even lose some if she pushes for the test.

Her saying that she will not allow the DNA test on her child was decided between the two of them so Edwards could come out and say he was willing to have the DNA test. She will continue to cover for him and most likely he told her he will “be with her” after Elizabeth dies.

I don’t know, he is pretty darn wealthy and she is entitled to just under 20% of his income with child support. Now it might not be $15,000 a month worth, but if he stops paying, she will have to pay alot of money to pursue it.
I think I read somewhere she is convinced that he is going to marry her. I bet she is hoping Elizabeth kicks the bucket and she moves into the big house.
