I think a better question is what God did do; and an equally better question is what did God say that He did. After all, He never lies.

For God to have “used evolution” to create Man,
He would have to be lying in Genesis, saying that the Creation was Good.

Disease, predation, death, mutation/birth defects - those are not “good”.
