I can’t see Georgian troops being able to wipe out the top of the apartment buildings from the ground.

Yes, I can see that the weapons will get into the hands of the Russian army. And strategically, it would foolish to not research it. If I were a Russian military leader, I would do the same.

Two weeks later, 2000 are killed in So Ossetia; you assert by Georgians, the article you referred me to asserts "under orders of the U.S."; but we don't really know, do we. What we do know is:

tanks and Russian troops have been amassing weeks before the "two weeks earlier", and continue to amass. Russia has taken the capital of Georgia; and crippled their airspace. So far, the pipelines remain intact and operational.

MRLS Grad was designed by Soviets. After USSR dissolved got inherited into hands of many newly CIS armies including Georgia’s. Also Georgians bought a lot of it from Ukraine. It is very well spread system.

You pretend to do not know the obvious. Georgians lauched mass artillery and MRLS attack on teh city Tskhinvall at night Aug 08. Even they do not deny it. They deny the casualty score.

I admit the numbers are aproximate now. In this area still the fighting go. Corpses lay on ground and in basements where people were killed by explosions.
After some time Russian investigating office will be established on ground and they will discover and count bodies completely.

Russia Targets Georgians for Expulsion

(Moscow, October 1, 2007) – The Russian government undertook a deliberate campaign to detain and expel thousands of Georgians living in Russia in October and November 2006, Human Rights Watch said in a report released today.

The 78-page report, “Singled Out: Detention and Expulsion of Georgians,” documents the Russian government’s arbitrary and illegal detention and expulsion of Georgians, including many who legally lived and worked in Russia. ".....

...."Following months of growing political tensions between Russia and Georgia, Georgian officials detained four Russian military officers on September 27, 2006 on charges of espionage. On October 2, Georgia handed the officers over to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and in the days and weeks that followed Russian authorities began a widespread crackdown on ethnic Georgians, Georgian nationals, and Georgian-owned or Georgian-themed businesses and organizations.

Russian government agencies issued written orders instructing police, the Federal Migration Service, courts and other agencies to take the necessary actions to identify and expel Georgians living irregularly in Russia. Senior government officials disparaged Georgians openly on government-owned TV, and much of Russia’s government-friendly TV and other media followed suit.

Police and other authorities denied basic rights to many of the detained. Most were denied lawyers or access to Georgian embassy officials, and were given hearings lasting only a few minutes. Many were held in severely overcrowded cells and in sometimes appalling conditions during detention. Two Georgians died in custody awaiting expulsion.

Before the media woke up and started putting spin on the matter, and before Russia got involved, the MSM was reporting that Georgian rocket artillery bombardment of the city of Tskhinvali had left 1500 dead.

I presume since the Russians got into the act 500 have more perished.
