Sen. Barack Obama is doing what Republicans once thought only a presidential candidacy by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton could do - uniting the right and center.
State Republican Party leaders interviewed by The Washington Times said fear of a far-left Obama presidency is warming once-skeptical voters to Sen. John McCain, fueling growing enthusiasm among Republicans that Mr. McCain's more aggressive campaigning can lead to victory...

Early voting has started here in Florida. Can you imagine what would happen if Barak is dupmped for Hillery at Denver? Early and absentee voters for Obama would not take it well. I'm moving all of my retirement to popcorn futures!

Centrists are socialists pretending to have a modicum of Conservatism in their bones. The fact they may vote for McCain only confirms McCain's socialist tendencies.
Vote for McCain because he is the lesser of two evils! LOL!!!

Most Americans are centrists. Obama is just too radical to win. McCain is not.

Most Americans are conservatives, if someone can communicate it properly.
Reagan managed to do it.

Bingo! You are so right — the vast majority of Americans are more to the center then the far left or far right. You will find a lot of centrist that are fiscal conservatives and very pro-defense and they will NOT vote for Obama. They would most likely not have voted for Hillary either but their dislike for Obama is stronger then for Hillary which I didn’t think possible.

I respectfully ask you to think about that question. It implies people must cede their conservative principles and vote the socialist line. That is a sure path to destruction for the country. That maybe for you but I will be voting for a conservative come November.

It’s Americanism vs. Communism. I hope there are enough Americans left to defeat Obama. 50/50 odds I guess.

I think Hillary would have been able to overcome the dislike most people have for her and sell her position, which is much closer to the center than Obama.
But Obama has no shot. He is just too far out there. This fumbling around over Georgia just points up that fact, once again.

“Americanism”? What’s that?
If you mean big government, international corporate style soft fascism, then you’re right.
If you mean truly Constitutional government, there isn’t a major candidate in the race for that option.

I have until November to decide. Until then I will be doing my research. I suggest you do the same instead of succumbing to the idea it is a foregone conclusion and must make a decision now. I can tell I will not be voting for the socialist candidates from either party.

Great reason to vote for someone, because they are not quite as bad as the other?
Seems like our system is broken if these two are the best we can come up with.
Time for a NEW conservative party.

Great campaign theme:
McCain -- because he sucks less than Obama.
I can just feel my enthusiasm for McCain rising.
One of the few good things about being stuck here in Massachusetts Blue State Hell is that I can refuse to vote for McCain without losing sleep that I am increasing the likelihood of having a President Obama.
