Throwing money at HIV has left many men at grave risk

AS GOVERNMENTS around the world directed billions of dollars at programs that aimed to prevent HIV among general populations, a giant wave of infections moved like a tsunami through communities of gay men in Asia, Africa and Latin America, new figures show.
Men who have sex with men are now nearly 20 times more likely to be infected with HIV than the general population, yet they often receive as little as 1 per cent of global funding...

It was recognized early on. It was a deliberate choice to make the straights think they were at risk to increase funding for AIDS research.
OK, now the AIDS money is going to straights so they come clean (sorta). But, IT WAS NOT A MISTAKE THE WAY IT WAS PRESENTED, IT WAS A LIE
The libertarian in me agrees with most of what you say.
BUT — and you just knew that was coming, right? — just as with measles, chicken pox, cholera, TB, etc. — society has a right to protect itself from infectious diseases by means of quarantines and other methods. As a boy, I was quarantined for a week with the measles so that I couldn’t infect others.
When morons like that idiot in SF URGES his gay pals to INTENTIONALLY CONTAMINATE the NATIONAL BLOOD SUPPLY, as the grandfather of 6 currently normal, healthy kids, I could take him out behind the barn and kill him myself without even thinking twice about it.
The spread of HIV will NOT be halted until those folks who carry it are, at the least, QUARANTINED.
And, on that general subject, the U.S. is now experiencing a surge in many diseases once either eradicated or under control HERE. Many of these outbreaks have been traced back to immigrants — mostly the ILLEGAL variety — who, thanks to our Bush, Clinton, Bush WIDE OPEN BORDERS have brought those microbes back here from their former homes.
And if you wonder why our healthcare system is virtually bankrupt or most of the rest of NATIVE BORN citizens cannot afford private healthcare, visit your local community hospital ER.

I agree. They do not seem to think like normal folks do.
I am no shrink but there seems to be something very wrong in their thought processes: its not that they have a “female brain” or any of that.
300, 400, 500 partners is a regular occurance. [Yes, they point to Wilt Chamberlin’s boast of 1,000 women but that is notable as the wild exception to a normal heterosexual relationship.]
It almost like a homsexual nymphomania.
Whatever it is, it ain’t right OR within normal parameters.
