Law and Justice MP and former deputy foreign minister Pawel Kowal called for the launch of a campaign of solidarity with the Georgian nation. He said that red and white ribbons - the colors of both the Georgian and Polish flags - should be worn by all politicians, media figures and ordinary members of the public.
A Day of Solidarity with Georgia will be organized in Poland tomorrow. Also, Polish Humanitarian Organization (PAH) announced it will provide aid to victims of the conflict on South Ossetia by collecting donations.
Meanwhile, around 100 protestors gathered outside the Russian Embassy in Warsaw, Saturday evening, to protest against the state of war in the region. A smaller demonstration also took place in front of the Russian consulate in Gdansk.
Polish bishops have called on the faithful to pray for peace in Georgia and for respect towards human rights and religious liberty in China.

That’s good. Russia already said “Poland will pay” for solidarity. Might as well make the best of the media coverage now, because you’re about to be annexed again as well, Mr. Lech W.

I agree...God Bless Poland.
Red and white are on our flag too. Let’s show our solidarity with Georgia.
God Bless Poland. Sadly they may be next.
Poland, The Ukraine, Moldova and others are in Russia’s crosshairs. They must be stopped. We need to target them again. We have to put a REAGAN on the Ruskies.
Amen.
We just need another Reagan period - although he did tuck tail over the Lebanon barracks bombing.
Poland is filled with great people cursed by terrible geography.
We need more of the Polish spirit right here in the United States.
They stand as an example to us all.
God Bless Poland.
I know. The Poles ROCK. They have guts and courage and do the right thing.
I have really come to love them.
But this time the Poles have better tanks and training. And maybe the EU will help.
God help us, this will spiral out of control.
Q: A Polish solder has one bullet left in his gun. A German is attacking him from the left and a Russian is attacking from the right. Who does he shoot?

A: The German, of course. Always put business before pleasure.
*Told to me by a Polish-American many years ago...
As General Anders told General Patton in 1943, “With the Germans we lose our lives, with the Russians, we lose our souls.”
