This is primarily a "political forum" and stories about John Lenon's killer having a wife and all is not a pressing issue in the U.S.

I'd say it's fair game, since the issue touches on liberal/conservative attitudes toward the penal system.

FR is a conservative forum, not just a "political forum". Besides there are thousands of other articles posted on here that are not just about politics or even conservatism and it has been that way for years. It spices up the place.
