OVIEDO, Fla. -- It's been 28 days since now 3-year-old Caylee Anthony was reported missing. Caylee's grandfather told Eyewitness News on Tuesday that she was kidnapped and the people that have her are being watched.
George Anthony told Eyewitness News he was supposed to meet in Oviedo on Tuesday morning with "people assisting outside the normal scope of things" and he seemed to suggest that the people are doing surveillance on kidnappers who he believes have his granddaughter.
"These people know they are being watched. They know it," George told Eyewitness News on Tuesday morning.
"Who are these people?" WFTV reporter Derrol Nail asked.
"I really can't get into that with you," George said.
"Are there people out there who can help you find these people?" Nail asked.
"Yeah, you would think that the people who have my granddaughter right now would be smart enough to turn this girl back in to her family. I don't want anymore of this going on," he said.
"You really believe that, George, with all the evidence out there to the counter?" Nail asked.
"Oh, deeply. You know something? Stuff that's out there so far, I hope I can say this as politely as I can, evidence that's out there is circumstantial. Evidence that's out there is being drawn up in someone's mind. Just because some things look like it's going in one way, it could go in a totally different way," he said.
During his time in Oviedo on Tuesday morning, he passed out shirts and fliers to random strangers who came up to him, but the person who he said he was supposed to meet in Oviedo didn't show up.
Eyewitness News asked if he has hired a private investigator and he would only say that the people who are doing the surveillance are private people who are helping him.
After his brief conversation with Eyewitness News, George hit the road with a Caylee billboard in tow. He said he plans on driving it to Sanford and possibly Daytona if time allows....
Yet he is driving around with a billboard ostensibly in order to have the public help him find out where she is.
All these lying Anthony scum should be in the clink.
Maybe because they don't exist, George?......................This whole family's nuts.............
Could it be that the murderer of Nicole Simpson and Ron Brown have turned to kidnapping?
Heh heh.
This is a double tragedy. I have two glorious grandkids, a girl 4 and a boy 17 months. I would crawl over glass to help them. Even if the road led to thier parents including my own daughter.
I get the sinking feeling probably like most here that little caylee is now in the arms of our lord.
Man, was I wrong. After watching some of his court testimony, I thought this guy might be the only sane one in the family.
Now I’m thinking this is a clan of grifters, from top to bottom.
This whole episode is just so bizarre, that it defies all reason. Yes, I believe little Caylee is with Jesus, now..............
Ron Brown?...........
Yea. My heart hurts. I don’t think the old grand father is involved in anyway. I just think they are trying to believe hard enough and work hard enough to make a different reality. It’s horribly sad.
It's too big a horror to admit to himself, so he's pretending that he believes her insane stories.
I think most people feel that way. I had some sympathy for the Anthony grandparents at first, but no longer. They're helping their evil daughter get away with murder, as the longer it takes to find Caylee's body, the less likely it is that they can determine who and what caused her death.
The grandparents have all the loyalty in the world for their evil, twisted daughter and none for their helpless, innocent grandchild. No one in the family is standing up for the innocent child.
Why not share with the police? They and the community seem willing to help.
What is a grifters?
It’s totally abstract, like a Picasso painting. Reality is what is happening at the moment of contact, not in the mind of the person speaking. They seem to be so far in denial they can’t even see the shore...............
For a minute I thought the call letters were WTFTV
This guy has lost what little mind he had..............

I used to think Cindy (Caylee’s grandmother) was holding info back. But the more she and George speak, the more I think that they are just in deep, deep, DEEP denial that their daughter killed their granddaughter and they have thrown reason out the window.
Wouldn’t kidnappers contact the family? Why would Casey be afraid to contact the police or the FBI for a kidnapping she had nothing to do with? Wouldn’t she be at least a little distraught over her “kidnapped” baby and not out partying? Wouldn’t she at least tell her boyfriend du jour that her baby is missing, not “friends” who say they hadn’t spoken to her in years?
But denial is a very, very powerful thing.
A grifter is a conman and/or thief.
i agree. no one is reacting NORMALLY to this situation. and didn’t the parents say when it all comes out, casey will be thought of as MOTHER OF THE YEAR? yeah, right. how can anyone believe them, when they deny she was fighting and cursing at them the weekend before she took off with caylee, yet the neighbor told mark fuhrman that casey had a “helluva” temper and that he would never dream of talking to his parents the way she addressed her’s, and as recently as that father’s day weekend. Greta asked Fuhrman if the parents corroborated that fight, and of course they lied and said there wasn’t one. we have heard the tone and profanity she has used with her parents on the tapes.
I think that the grandparents are in the know about everything and that they, as a group, concocted this whole story, as bizarre as it is............
a pathological liar is often raised by people who aren’t so cozy with the truth themselves.

“Oh, deeply. You know something? Stuff that’s out there so far, I hope I can say this as politely as I can, evidence that’s out there is circumstantial. Evidence that’s out there is being drawn up in someone’s mind. Just because some things look like it’s going in one way, it could go in a totally different way,” he said.
Yeah, DAT’s da ticket!
OJ was hired to do the surveillance. He really experienced at finding criminals.
I hope they drained the (above ground) pool and looked underneath the middle.
It would not be difficult for Casey to drain the pool overnight, bury the baby underneath the liner, and then refill it.
Here is the DSM-IV definition of a sociopath:
A. Repeated acts that could lead to arrest.
B. Conning for pleasure or profit, repeated lying, or the use of aliases.
C. Failure to plan ahead or being impulsive.
D. Repeated assaults on others.
E. Reckless when it comes to their or others safety.
F. Poor work behavior or failure to honor financial obligations.
G. Rationalizing the pain they inflict on others.
When you find this child; or indict the Mother. . .and who knows else; shout it/print it.
Gee, rk you could substitute Politician for Sociopath and no one would know the difference.
It would be difficult to hide...........
Scary, but true.
Amen to that. Everybody knows damn well that the daughter has a lot to do with the dissapearance of that child. Shame Shame on the grandparents (if they can be called that)
What is so strange to me (and I think might be a huge clue) are the different dates given for the last time anyone saw Caylee. I can’t get past it.
Casey says she dropped her off at the phantom babysitter’s on Monday, June 9. Later, they find the video of Caylee that was taken on Father’s Day, Sunday June 15. NOBODY remembered the Father’s Day visit??
Oh! Something that needs to be added to the timeline, Casey’s theft of the gas cans from the tool shed around June 24th. She claims to have run out of gas.
My brother would have made a great politician.......thank God he became a gigolo instead............
ALL of those fit my brother to a tee...............plus some others they don’t list...............
In a hot, muggy state like Florida it only takes about four weeks for a body in a shallow grave to decompose, leaving nothing but bones. IMHO, Casey caused her death, disposed of the body where it would decompose quickly, and sat on the story long enough for the body to decompose. If Casey keeps her mouth shut, just like Gary Condit, she's not even going to be indicted for murder because there won't be enough evidence.
It’s scary. I’m sure we all know at least one person who fits all the characteristics and they have injected massive chaos into our lives at some point.

Some other things not listed:
He’s always the victim, usually of a conspiracy or plot against him, by people or persons unknown or unnamed.
His actions are no worse than anybody elses in the same situation.
He delights in making YOU feel bad because YOU have hurt HIM................
A person can be convicted of murder/manslaughter without a body..............
The whole family makes me sick! I can not believe that this incredibly stupid Casey has so many people jumping thru hoops and can’t be broken by a shrink or cop. They all keep repeating these idiotic stories of kidnappers and I can’t say any more and people are watching and on and on! How they can cover for this psychopath daughter knowing their grand daughter is dead and buried or whatever she did with the body makes me sick to my stomach! I’d go in the jail and grab that b—— by the throat and shake it out of her!
Orlando is a quasi liberal town, so be patient.............
If they admit that their daughter is a pathological lying murderer, the donations to help find Kaylee stop coming in..........Yeah, that’s exactly what I think of the entire family.
I totally agree. I would also add grandiose ideas and a sense of entitlement and superiority.
The only grandiose idea my brother ever had was how to scam some South Florida widow out of a few grand.................
