Why is it that I think that if Bruce Springsteen was a life-long Republican, served in the military and belonged to the NRA that people would be tripping over each other to come here and post about what a musical genius he is?

The fact is that although Bruce Springsteen is a horse's ass when it comes to politics, he is truly one of the great recording artists of our time. His recent album "Magic" is proof that he hasn't lost his touch over the years. Any true fan of music would have to acknowledge that this was one of the top albums of 2007.

And who the blazes was it that pronounced him “The Boss.”

He did.

He wanted to be more famous than Elvis and be called the king, but Elvis had that wrapped up. Sinatra had the Chairman of the Board wrapped up, so Bruce decided on calling himself the Boss. Or so it goes.

what is it with the superbowl?

first they start broadcasting homosexual commercials, and now they have anti-american wacko half time shows.

Advertisers should stay away from this like the plaugue.

How do we get budwiser to stay away?

How many people actually LISTEN TO THE WORDS of Born in the USA.

It is a democrat wet dream, all bad news about the USA.

Clarence with Little Stevie on guitar and Max on drums are top of their class.

To me Bruce was and is a Dylan/Woody wannabe with out the transcendent everyman vocabulary they both possess(ed).

I don’t hate Bruce, but I agree with Keef Richards who once characterized his recordings as ‘contrived’, and I think that Terry Jacks, or, say, Rick Springfield could’ve as well been Bruce, and, matter of fact, Johnny Cougar, is another Bruce. Bruce wishes he were Roy Orbison or Dion (DiMucci), who’s still around and still rocking. Give Dion a listen!

He's (or was) an incredibly energetic performer, and he has that whole working-man schtick going for him.

Springsteen can stick his schtick.

He's from Jersey. Need anything more be said?

He's a lefty pr*ck. There, I said it.

***one of the great recording artists of our time***

When history is written about “The Boss” it will be a footnote in some Who's Who book. He's equivalent to a Neil Young, some good songs but forgettable in the end.

Daddy, why did God invent the "mute" button on remotes?

So we wouldn't have to listen to non-talent nitwits butcher The National Anthem and half-time shows performed by jackasses.

You might be right; however, I wondered what all the fuss was about back in the 80's when I first heard him.

Really, I was never able to acquire any kind of liking for his music (except for Born in the USA).

Now Segar! - I've been a fan of his forever!

Superbowl halftime is a good time to read a book.

I’ve been saying it for years, they need to have AC/DC perform. They come out with Back in Black, Thunderstruck, and Shook Me All Night, Angus rocks the Aussie school boy shorts and everyone goes home happy.

The way I see it is football is stressful enough to watch~I don't want politics on my mind at all when it's on.

Me either, that's why I can't stomach him.

You’ve heard one Springsteen song, you’ve heard ‘em both. I’ll pass on this halftime show, thanks.
