That's just BS.
We sell security's....Counties and people can buy them and they pay a decent but small return.
Those securities expire on a time schedule and are redeemed by our treasury, and they often turn around and buy more.
The reason they do is that the U.S. is known to be a stable place for that money and has never defaulted.
There are limited places in the world where money is that safe, and certainly not Russia. That's why it comes here, and I don't have a clue as to why that should bother you.
Also, when a government needs more money, it can sell assets of print more. Neither of which we are doing or must do because we remain a good investment risk. The best actually.

We are broke, Europe is in no position to defend itself, Putin may not care at this point if we did any of those things. As I said we must be prepared for the worst so that we are not left gawking at an inconceivable defeat born of arrogance and overconfidence.

Are you kidding me when you say we don't print more assets? The Fed stopped publishing M3, the broadest measure of money supply, but my independent measures it is growing by 18% a year. Sooner or later the idiots who are dumb enough to buy our treasury securities will realize that we are inflating our way out of our debt and interest rates will go to 20%! And I will laugh my ass off.

They surprised us and it won’t happen again. Russia, though a lame bear is still dangerous, but they are a mere shell of what they used to be. You are right we need to prepare and we will.

Ukraine has a very large Russian population which will be Putin's excuse to invade. He tried to poison the President there for crying out loud, he would do things that you would consider well, beyond comprehension.

M.Totten was on the
FR menu here recently, and belive me - he is very wrong. Albanians simply dress and change different clothes suitable for their goal. Simply put, waving different flags for Kosovo Albanians is their old job, because they did it during Turks, Germans, communists and of course now, using different agressors against Serbia is their agenda for last 100 years, and every time they did it the serbian population drastically decreased.
Finding the Israeli advocating for inDependent Kosovo, new-born crime-state in Europe is suitable also for the credibility, as M.T. new-born apologist of jihadi-state thinks.
But you should see what citizens of Serbia - Kosovo Jews went through in 1999. - read the
interview with the president of the Jewish Community in Pristina, capital of Kosovo - a "fine" testimony on his "moderate" muslims that will add some real fact to your statement.

Europe is in no position to defend itself, Tell me please, when was it that Europe (excluding Britain)actually defended it's self?
And no, we are far from broke, and more than 2/3s of our military forces are not very busy at the present time. More if needed.

What Russia has done, is to completely and totally verify it’s stupid intentions and this puts them all on notice. In the days to come, you will see more solidarity then you ever have or will from these fledgling democracies.

Intimidation....They want the locals to bring out their president and hang him.
Or at least that is the inference.
But they have misjudged them and we are landing at the airport as we speak, begging them to take a shot.

So is the population, inflation, and much more American dollars were required to support the doubling in the price of oil alone! (not to mention huge numbers in global trade)
You are seeing Bogey men in the corners and reading too much BS from the Gold Bugs. BTW, how's that gold investment?

Gold, oil and commodities in general have been a great investment for me. I’ve been long since gold was $290 and oil was $15, so it has made me rich.

I hope they judge rightly, we are light years ahead of where we were 10 years ago...technically and tactically.
Russia can take that to the bank!

“Russian forces are twelve miles outside Tiblisi, why?”
1. They could overplay their hand but that would mean a quicker downfall of Russia.
2. More likely, it is just coercion and intimidation. They are communists/ubernationalists/imperialists...whatever they label it, they are thugs with a flag. They will try to negotiate from what they perceive as strength.
The ball is in their court, they can play nice or open up a real Cold War. It’s a losing proposition either way and their leaders and our leaders, despite the headlines, know they are weak.

After all, we don't have the most expensive and best equipped military and intellegence assets in the world for nothing..Well, we did have all of that stuff prior to September 11, 2001 and it didn't stop our enemies from hitting us completely by surprise, and that was on our own soil. Anyone who thinks that we can accurately know and predict what is going to happen because of how well trained and equipped our military and intelligence assets are is living in a dangerous fantasy world. Think The Guns of August.
