Don't know much this method is being taught but I know of at least one instance (a public school in Colorado).

My understanding is that it, or something similar, is being practiced in Montessori schools.

BTW, the people over at NPR love it. Found a link while researching it.

Anyway, further research revealed that, Lev Semenovich Vygotsky, the originator, was a devout Marxist and applied Marxist theories while developing the principles for what would be later adopted, expanded upon and modernized by psychologists and behaviorists -- "Tools of the Mind."

Do a google search on Vygotsky and Marx.

Thought you'd like to know what is being taught in Public Schools.

Why do we need Marxist tools when we already have John Dewey, who was plenty Marxist, when he wasn’t being fascits (if there’s a difference).

—for later—

I know Vygotski engaged in research, which is often cited. I wasn’t aware that he was political. Must investigate later.

Surprising that it is so blatant, too.

My wife is a teacher’s aid at this school.

She immediately became suspicious when she was instructed to neither punish nor reward the children — Marxist mediocrity.

On a whim, I decided to research it on the Internet and found a lot of info about it. All praising it but not realizing its origins. Who knows, maybe they don’t care. Read the NPR review below.
