McCain will sign. If he doesn’t he is going to be hurting but there is no reason he wouldn’t. It is a good issue for him and Republicans. This confrontation is one that could make or break the election for conservatives and Republicans. Either way we win. We just need to stay on message and tell people we are fighting for energy independence and real world solutions not pie in the sky.

I have heard that McCain’s thinking at this point is that conservatives have nowhere else to go, so he thinks he can dare to do almost anything . . . up to and including choosing Joe Lieberman as his VP.
