Guess elephants have some serious short-term memory issues! Everyone knows singer Jackson Browne is a serious liberal, everyone except, apparently, John McCain. Now Browne is fighting mad and has filed suit against McCain and his party, alleging they falsely suggested he was on their side.
Browne claims the GOP used his epic hit "Running on Empty" in an ad for McCain without his permission, adding that the ad mocks Barack Obama, which Browne ain't none too happy about.
The suit wants the ad to stop running -- STAT -- and is seeking damages. Browne's lawyer Lawrence Iser says this ain't the first time McCain has done this -- he did it with ABBA's "Take a Chance on Me" and well-known Democrat John Mellencamp's song "Pink Houses." Iser says "In light of Jackson Browne's lifelong commitment to Democratic ideals and political candidates, the misappropriation of Jackson Browne's endorsement is entirely reprehensible."

Dang, and just as McCain was about to rake in the millions of votes the coveted Jackson Browne endorsement would have brought him!
Assuming McCain’s campaign went through the appropriate licensing channels, I don’t see what Jackson’s got to complain about.
Jackson Browne? Wasnt’ he charged with domestic violence or beating up Daryl Hannah some year ago?
I used to really like his music but discovering his support for Code Pink and his living in Spain while making big $’s in US free market capitalism, he’s just another dispicable liberal/communist.
I remember old Jackson getting busted for demostrating one day out in front of the Diablo Canyon Nuke Plant in SoCal. He was oveheard telling the cop, as he clapped the cuffs on, “careful of the wrists.”
Poor Jackson, he’s made millions, and he loathes his country.

Why would the McCain Team use his music w/o his permisson? Isn’t that illegal? If so, they’re kinda stupid; if not, bite me Jackson.
I forget, did he beat up Darryl Hannah or did she beat him up? Or was it all a 100% false story from the Enquirer?

I don’t understand how that is supposed to be construed as an endorsement. Browne assumes people still care what he thinks...heck people don’t even recognize him.
