Obama camp: Detroit mayor would be a 'distraction'

DETROIT (AP) — Barack Obama doesn't want Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and his legal troubles to be a distraction at the upcoming Democratic National Convention, and he got his wish Thursday when a judge ordered the city executive to stay home.

A Michigan spokesman for Obama, Brent Colburn, said in an e-mail Thursday that the focus of the convention in Denver this month should be on Obama and not on what Colburn called "the troubles of one individual," a reference to Kilpatrick and the two criminal cases he's facing.

Kilpatrick, who would have gone to the convention as a superdelegate, faces eight felony charges in a perjury case and two felony charges in an assault case.

A shining example of a dem party superdelegate. Bravo, Kwame! You've defrauded and looted your city, violated the oath of office, lied to its citizens, betrayed your wife and friends by having sex with an "aide" and then lying about it under oath, physically attacked your own policemen, violated the court's orders and your bail bond requirements, and totally obliterated any rudimentary vestiges of decency, honor, or morals you may ever have had. You haven't, as far as we know, fathered a child out of wedlock and then denied it, but even without that, you're a perfect example of the Democrat Party in action, so SHOW UP at the convention. Who cares what the Obambi tells you to do!

Kwame goes under the bus for now, but should Obama win, mark my words: he will be rehabilitated.

Is the convicted-but-out-of-jail-pending-appeal Don Siegelman still speaking at the convention?

LOL! Then he better remove Hillary from the docket because she'll be front, and in center focus!

That's right! Now I'm confused. Is he under the bus now or just in back?
