Unfortunately, we don't currently have the unconditional backing of the EU and by extension, NATO at this time. They are working furiously on this problem I am sure, but without this backing support, we are being hampered and cannot be stronger in voice or actions just yet. If we fail however, the result will really put the screws to the EU, and they are mulling all this as we speak. They are way too slow to react for anyones comfort, including me.

In fact, I alerted my 22 year old that he may well be getting a letter from the draft board at some future date. I think there is a good chance we could fail to get EU and NATO backing, and we do have defense agreements with Poland, as of a day or so ago. Even if we do get the backing, I don't think the Russians will blink. I told my son, that since his major is criminology, that the MP's would be a good choice.

“I alerted my 22 year old that he may well be getting a letter from the draft board ...”

I doubt that. Also, be aware that international dealings take time. I’m sure that, not only the present situation, but the future security of the Ukraine and other nations is being discussed as well. We know that the UN is worthless in this situation.....another reason why I like McCain’s proposal for a “League of Democracies.”
