Speaking of which, how did they get nukes - I can't believe their drunken scientists were able to do what our Manhattan Project folks were able to do.

The Rosenbergs got them started. Although they weren't alone. Some spies have been military, but most have been civilians working for the US government or defense industries.

The Rosenbergs were executed, and became a cause celeb of the left, until the Verona intercepts, and confirmation from the Russians themselves under Yeltsin, showed that the Rosenbergs were guilt as hell, which is where they now reside.
