Now, go to their argument. How about cheering? It surely also give something that change the blood oxygen.

Nothing new.
Why do you think military units have buglers, bagpipes, or drums? It’s part of the troops getting motivated for the kill. Martial music exists not only for the feet but also for the spirit.

Article M1. ENHANCEMENT OF OXYGEN TRANSFER The following are prohibited: 2. Artificially enhancing the uptake, transport or delivery of oxygen... Straightforward ruling results in a straightforward conclusion: Listening to music through earphones before the start is in line with other measures prohibited.
Pretty flawed reasoning. Music, even recorded music, is not "artificial," but a natural part of life for all peoples of all cultures. Hence on its face their logic fails.

I’m starting to think that this may be a deliberately tongue-in-cheek article to illustrate how broadly-worded the WADA guidelines are. At least, I’m HOPING so.

They should get rid of competition too. Guys go faster when being pushed by others. Make all swimmers and runners go alone. And make sure it is in an empty stadium.

This is some serious BS, but I’ve always thought Olympic swimming medals were a bit cheap anyway due to the fact that they do the same distances using different strokes and call them seperate events. It’s like running the 100m dash forward, backwards, and hopping on one foot. How many medals would Carl Lewis have won under those circumstances?

Alexei Koudinov and The Doping Journal have no competing financial interests.Hmmmm, sound's like he is still mad at the Russian hockey team being trounced by the USA team in the 1980 Olympics...

Don't forget encouraging words... They should be banned, too, as increasing blood supply. And, yeah, those ladies nearby - babes should be strictly prohibited - does the increase in testosterone rings a bell?!
Cheerleaders and fans are controlled substance now. Well, what else... did anyone notice unusual body movements Phelps was making before the start - he must be required to stand still for at least 10 min before entering the water, so no artificial circulation enhancement will alter the results. I'm sure we did not know everything, eye movements, for example must be investigated...food, air, water, sleep patterns, swallowing of the saliva...

I think they need to get rid of coaches too.
To: DemonDeac
Oh, yeah, that one definitely. Thank you for correcting the oversight. Coaches are biggest doping of all.

And that’s already on the list of banned ‘substances’ - right?
Right?

Oh, and BTW - I noticed one of the Chinese swimmers do quite a slapping of his muscles routine just before diving in.
I imagine that would do about the same thing - get he blood, muscles pumped up.
SO WHAT!
They also eat big meals to replace the calories they lose - will those be banned an ‘enhancement’ also.
Inanity raises it's ugly head - as usual

Damn this is desperate. Sad.
But there is some basis to it. Frequency following response. Amongst other things. Oh, and there's that whole listening to Beethoven makes baby smarter schtuff.
In this case the accusation is ridiculous. They would have had to have tested every swimmer before and after each event to even begin to prove there was a competitive advantage. Obviously this hasn't been done or they would have presented the evidence.
People are claiming the officials screwed the US women's gymnastics team out of a gold by disrupting one girls routine and destroying her concentration, and now this rag is floating what they must see as justification for destroying Phelps routine before his swim. Will it work? Who knows? If he loses they will try to cite it as proof of their theory. One wonders if the next events if one of his tougher swims? What better time to disrupt his routine?

I’ll have you know, Phelps listens to music that he hates, just to make the race fair for the other swimmers. If he only listened rockin’ tunes, he’d beat even more hell out of those chumps.
To: DemonDeac
Take all those floor gymnastic medals back too then.
