Those poor people. I especially love the part about those horribly painful monitoring bracelets. Give me a break. Symapthetic journalism at its worst.

Oh, those horrible, despicable ICE law enforcement agents! How dare they enforce the laws of this country and protect the jobs and identities of lawful citizens!!!

It actually does my heart good to hear of these raids still happening. We can only hope to increase these policies to rid our country of FELONY conspirators.

And the employer who gasped “we have a problem here”...should be serving about 10 years for the hiring of illegal aliens. Want to break up illegal immigration? Send American employers to the slam. It would end in 24 hours. Naturally our straight arrow politicians, who depend upon these employers for contributions...well, you figure it out.

Hmmm...an employer getting wealthy on the backs of abused illegals.

Postville, riding a crime wave into the post-civilized world...nice to see that ICE left a few illegals behind to keep the crime wave going:

Postville Gazette recent attempted murders

oh, a translation: "[those] who work in Postville but are not residents" is PC for illegals.

About 150 Somalis, refugees who live and work legally in this country, have arrived to work at Agriprocessors since the raid. At first, most were single men, but a growing number of women are starting to join them. In the evenings, the long, lanky men in loose fitting clothes and women, swathed in traditional Muslim dresses and hijabs, can often be seen walking from the meatpacking plant to downtown.

Yeah. that's an improvement.

It was not real clear that these immigrants are ILLEGALS. Laws were violated within and without the plant. I am crying a river for all these criminals—workers and management. By golly, all of them might be placed on double secret probation. Booohooo.

We have a rising unemployment rate but yet now we kick out hispanics for Somali muslims? Why dont we end welfare so that regular joe Americans are willing to do the jobs?

I do like this purple prose. I can’t help but wonder if the author got her start ghost-writing cheap westerns. For a moment there I thought it was supposed to be Apaches, Comancheros, or Bloody Bill Anderson’s raiders descending upon our unsuspecting town...

I wonder at whether and to what extent the idyllic picture of this burg is tinted and tilted. Other depictions of agriprocessor towns like these have the exploited, underpaid illegals relegated to trailer parks, with relations between them and the townies as somewhat to the south of lovey-dovey.

This article depicts them as all as noble, salt-of-the-earth types and their children as all bright-eyed, studious, with high aspirations, whereas other articles have illegals’ children more oriented towards underclass values and livin’ the Vida Loca. No mention of MS-13 problems here.

At the same time, I’m as mad as they are. If ICE really meant to clean out the illegals all they had to do was inform Agriprocessors several months in advance that they would be coming to make a routine inspection but afterward, that they would be keeping agents at the front gate, checking IDs every day for the indefinite future. The illegals would have been bloodlessly turfed out with the only opprobrium directed at the employer. This is still just for show, but it is interesting to see that the administration really is NOT afraid of pumped-up Liberal media/Latino establishment outrage after all. Certainly not so much as they are of the meatpackers and their “K” street connections.

Either way, I hope Postville will learn to like living under sharia, if these Somalis are like their Minneapolis brethren.

Postville is quite an appropriate name.

It is so cliche that, if you wrote it as a work of fiction, you would be pilloried by the PC police.

I mean, the article features the Hassidic Mafia, corrupt rabbis, saintly immagrants who want to work hard and get ahead, ...

Liquor and Redemption store.

Ok, what the heck is a Liquor and Redemption store? You buy your liquor there and get redeemed at the same time or do you go there for redemption after drinking the liquor?

I didn’t see any mention the numerous laws of the owners are breaking. They didn’t give a damn about US laws. It wasn’t about people or a community. This plant is about money and greed.

I’m leaning towards the word “propaganda” rather than “journalism”......

No wonder employers and illegal invaders don’t abide by and respect our laws. Even our own so-called media is siding with them!
