Troops in Afghanistan Kill Armed Militants, Seize Suspect

American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON, Aug. 18, 2008 – Coalition and Afghan forces killed an unknown number of armed militants and seized a suspect in Afghanistan yesterday, military officials said.

Enemy fighters attacked a coalition base in the Bermel Valley of Paktika province with small-arms, machine-gun and rocket fire. Combined forces retaliated with machine-gun and mortar fire, killing several militants, military officials said.

No Afghan, coalition forces or civilian casualties were reported.

Meanwhile, as troops searched for a Taliban leader in a compound in the Tag Ab district of Kapisa province, they came under fire from multiple enemy fighters.

Coalition forces responded with air strikes and small-arms fire, killing the insurgents, military officials said.

Troops discovered and destroyed assault rifles, rocket-propelled grenades and ammunition.

In Khowst province yesterday, coalition forces detained a militant responsible for assisting foreign fighters entering Afghanistan, military officials said.

I know you pray for them all.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

You are right.

I rarely miss a day.

History will also show our soldiers to be heros who participated in events that changed the course of history for the better.

And they deserve all the more thanks because the pursued their service at a time when half of their countrymen are confused about which side their bread is buttered.

Actually it was a spur of the moment psuedo-rip off of a line Dennis Miller had in the late 80’s when he referred to “choreography stiffer than the Lee Harvey Oswald prison transfer.” But in my vanity, I like mine better!
