Anyone remember Jumpin’ Jim Jeffords? Revenge is a dish that persons of refinement prefer cold.

It would only be temporary ... he’d be voted out of office in a few years. Conn might elect an Indy Joe over a dem, but a RINO Joe? Don’t think so.

Unless he moves rightward like Ben Nighthorse Campbell did. Weicker has since gone off the deep end since he left the Governorship.

I wish Zell Miller had done this.

When he indicated he would remain a Dem, I hoped he would organize a circle of fellow dems that had similar principals. Unfortunately they had no place for him. Most of us @ FR would disagree with Zell on many issues but I think most of us agree that he is motivated by his love for country and his conscience. Even in disagreement, he's a good man in my book.

I feel the same about Joe. He is a good man too and I would welcome him to the party if he wishes to switch. I wouldn't, however, nominate (or support) him for a position of leadership in the party because he does not represent enough of what I believe. I am not in favor of McCain nominating him for veep.

There’s no more room in today’s Democratic Party for “Scoop Jackson” Democrats like Lieberman.

"You’ve posted that enough. It’s vulgar."

It most certainly is not! It's in good taste and it is spot on the issue! Lighten up!

Lieberman’s numbers in CT are taking a nose dive, I think hes is just doing whatever he wants now, and not worrying about getting re-elected (which aint happenin)

"I have kids in the room, man."

You allow them to look at an adult website?

Interesting.

I bet if he does, one of our Rinos (Chaffe?) would jump to the other side.

Actually, I always thought Joe Lieberman is what Charlie Brown would look like as an adult.

"That picture would be even better if the rhino in front (i.e. the humpee) were an elephant."

Some lightweight FReepers had it removed because it was "vulgar."

Assuming you mean Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, he lost his re-election bid two years ago. So his switch wouldn't make much of a difference.

Chaffee lost in 2006 then changed to I and endorsed Obama.

The triumverate of President McCain, Senator Liberman and Senator Grahm will control the Senate and will actually govern America

And there's room in the Republican party for Senators like Lieberman?

What took him so long. We could have had the Senate all this time, but he chose to have leader Reid instead of McConnell.
