Edwards is a Dem that holds a seat in a pretty Conservative part of Texas. His district is fairly rural but includes Fort Hood, Waco (and Baylor University) as well as the Bryan/College Station area and Texas A&M.
One military base and two of the more conservative Universities you’ll find anywhere ... and yet Edwards has carried it fairly easily.
“His district is fairly rural but includes Fort Hood, Waco (and Baylor University) as well as the Bryan/College Station area and Texas A&M.”
Fort Hood is not in Edwards’ district. It used to be before redistricting several years ago.
Thankfully, we have been spared his left wing idiocy for a while now.
DU is going nuts!
They dont like it L0L
In the controversial 2003 Texas redistricting, Edwards' district was renumbered as the 17th District, and the U.S. Army post Fort Hood was removed from the district. His district absorbed College Station, home of Texas A&M, a longtime bastion of conservatism. It also absorbed several heavily Republican Fort Worth suburbs.
However, it looks like Crawford IS in his district, LOL!
Texas A&M may still lean conservative, but Baylor’s not even close. It jumped the shark some time ago.
