This is merely readiness training for future titanic events.

The sky is falling!
Here is a pic showing last year's Arctic ice on 8/21/07 on the left and yesterday's Arctic ice on the right. See how much MORE there is this year than .... wait. That can't be right because EVERYONE knows that globull warming is a real as and genuine as a Chines passport.

So millions of years ago global warming caused bears to swim in the ocean, grow flippers, and evolve into walruses. Do the eco-nuts have a problem with that?

Why are they worried about an animal named URSUS MARITIMUS swimming in the ocean?
To: Uncle Hal
This is a non story. The global warming crowd is truly nuts.
Yup. I heard a globull warming alarmist sum up his argument that we're all doomed with the "statement that "Society doesn't handle surprises well". Nobody even questioned his statement but I wanted proof.

Well yes, nuts, but crafty too. Exactly. There's some big, big money to be made if the public can be convinced of this scam.

Polar bears can easily swim 100’s of miles.
These are probably looking for new food resources because the record numbers of polar bears are exhausting available food where they used to live.

Get a good Alaskan butcher and a 0.50 cal and we can taste bear meat from there. The bear meat from CO tastes like nuts and berries. It’s great. I want to taste Alaskan bear steaks BBQ’d.

Nine polar bears were observed in one day swimming in open ocean off Alaska's northwest coast, an increase from previous surveys that may indicate warming conditions are forcing bears to make riskier, long-distance swims to stable sea ice or land.Could it be there are MORE polar bears so more would be swimming??

Regarding:
"It probably is not a big deal for a polar bear in good condition to swim 10 or 15 miles, Amstrup said, but swims of 50 to 100 miles could be exhausting." these critters have been observed making treks of 700 miles in open ocean.
Has this guy ever seen a polar bear?

Maybe they are Russian bears trying to escape the torture in their homeland ... Just want to make it to Alaska and live free.

These are probably looking for new food resources because the record numbers of polar bears are exhausting available food where they used to live. So are we going to see gang wars between bears, moose, and deers over garbage cans?

And that's after they changed the data processing and the color scheme which reduced the sea ice extent ... The change happened on July 11, 2008 according to the source data collection group.
I wonder why they would want to reduce the Arctic sea ice extent?
