LOL!
I think so.
The next phase in the story will be Inuit shooting polar bears that are rooting through their garbage.
Self defense.

Since the bears obvious;y started from shore...Where’s the problem? Do they just swim in a straight arrow like a bunch of dummies?? The bears know a lot more than “their followers”.

"Theyd probably taste heavily of a fish-like meat"
That's fine. The butcher can sell me a 1 inch x 10 inch steak. I am adaptible. I like fish. So I will have fish and meat in one big steak. I think I need the knowledge of Racheal Ray on the Food Channel to tell me how to do this.

I had black bear once when I was younger, swore I would never eat that again unless it was life or death.
I don’t think any predator mammal would taste good now that i think about it.

I agree with that whole-heartily, my life as I know it would end without garlic.

Why not? You cant't have bears looting garbage cans for food like bums. And scaring other animals away. How about sending them to Russia? Those wolf packs do not want contact with bears at all.

With absolutely ZERO reference offered to show whether this is more, less, or about normal numbers for polar bear ocean swim sightings, this aritcle is utter tripe.

This is just one more example of mankind’s inhumanity to bears.

Nine polar bears were observed in one day swimming in open ocean off Alaska's northwest coast, an increase from previous surveys ... That's because there are lots and lots of polar bears. I remember reading a story about oil drilling in the Beaufort Sea by the Canadian oil company Dome Petroleum in the 1970s. A polar bear swam to a drilling platform that was an artificial island 45 miles from the nearest land. He found a gallon container of motor oil that had been left outside, drank the contents, and swam away again.
