On the day that Barack Obama announced Joe Biden as his running mate, 39% of voters said he made the right choice. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 25% disagreed and another 35% are not sure.

Women are notably less enthusiastic than men—33% of women say Biden was the right choice while 27% disagreed. Men, by a 46% to 24% margin, said that Obama made the right choice.

Not surprisingly, Democrats were more supportive of Obama’s decision than anybody else—52% of those in his party agreed with his pick while 19% disagreed. However, just 43% of Democratic women said the presumptive nominee made the best pick while 23% disagreed.

Overall, 32% said the selection of Biden made them more likely to vote for Obama and an identical percentage said it made them less likely to do so. Among unaffiliated voters, 25% are more likely to vote for Biden while 33% had the opposite view....

I know that Monday, there will be stories all over the “media” how Obama made a “courageous and gutsy move” by selecting the most arrogant and obnoxious buffoon on Capitol Hill to be his “partner” for the rest of the campaign.

Biden always reminded me of the guy from the Greatest American Hero. I know he played the Mayor in Turk 182 as well.

a “courageous and gutsy move”

You have to admire his gumption in stepping right out in front of a McCain freight train like that.

By the way, how do you feel about kites and monofilament fishing line?

Well now, isn't this an interesting factoid.

Yep.
Most people on the right are pretty happy with this.
Biden just will not help Obama at all.

And looks like it might even hurt him if this poll is right.

“Biden is what Obama says he is against.”
No kidding!!!
Just imagine a time framed image collage with Biden next to all the looser democRATS since 1972.
Tip O’neil, Carter, Kennedy, Jim Wright, etc. barf barf.
Biden is the poster boy (grandpa) for democRAT continuity.
He has alway been there, always involved in every tax increase, oil/gas restricting, abortion supporting bill since 1972.
Biden is the poster geezer that screamed for term limits.
Please, someone put that old steer out to pasture.....

I am baffled by this choice. Biden’s a pro-abort Catholic and (although the MSM won’t mention this) is known around Washington as a very vile, little man. Either o>bama’s really stupid or he has a lot of money bet on his side losing.
