In an interview with Todd Gillman, U.S. Rep. Chet Edwards of Waco says the antics of a similarly named, slick-talking, lying philanderer probably helped sink his chances of becoming Barack Obama's running mate. The other guy went on television to confess his pecadillos -- guaranteeing his status as a national laughingstock -- just about the time the Obama campaign was considering floating Chet Edwards' name.

When Rush mentioned Chet Edwards as a possible VP choice, I thought it could be problematic for them because many people would see the names on the ticket and think it was John Edwards running.
Too bad his last name isn’t Kennedy . He would have been a shoe in.
He should consider himself fortunate......

H#ll no! The local radio AM station has a weekly suckfest with Chet all the while claiming to be "conservative".
He's a democrat and needs to lose his seat. It doesn't matter cause he's been in office so long he'll get a big fat pension anyway, but at least he can tinker around Waco or DC and quit helping Nancy Pelosi screw us republicans.
