Don’t count your chickens ‘til they’ve hatched.

Don’t count your chickens before they've come home to roost.

Since McCain hasn't broken 46% in any poll, since the Dums maintain substantial edge in party identification, since the economy is stil the main issue before the electorate I fail to see the reason for such optimism.

I think, hope, McCain can win, but anyone talking landslide, or even its possibilty, at this point is way too optimistic.

“I've decided to vote for MeCain just to watch Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann’s heads explode when he wins decidedly!”

Us Fredheads, Romneyites, Rudybotts, Hunters, and all the rest welcome you. We are going to win this thing in a landslide and send a loud message to teh DNC that we will accept no Marxist. Ever.

Exactly, I’m tired of people blaming the voters when things don’t go their way, it’s like companies whining about stupid consumers when their products bomb in the marketplace.

If you can’t get people to vote for you, blaming the voter is the easy answer because it means you did nothing wrong, and you aren’t responsible and don’t have to change anything.

I think I saw one recent poll where McCain broke 47%, LOL.

Agreed.

Take nothing for granted.

The Messiah is vunerable is all we can say for sure now.

But things can change, so no letting up. No false comforts in polling.

Yup - a geddout da vote bus could tip this to the rats in many big cities. A geddout da vote an’ geddout again and again within driving distance might do it too, if Acorn Ops are successfull.

I think Obasm may well lose the election but his real goal is a European Union Commissioner position. The presidency was only a stepping stone for him and he may skip that step.

So if the loss of 20 Republican seats in 2006 the House equated to what 9%Nancy calls a “mandate,” and George Bush’s 2.9% victory in 2004, what would she call a McCain victory of say 8.5%? Would that be considered a landslide in these days of political polarity?

I’m guessing that would be perceived as a good number for a margin of victory since it was the hoped for number that Clinton said he had until the Great Democrat Myth got busted and a 5.65% reality number got recorded. He lied.

Absolutely. The Dems are experts are the "October Surprise" gambit. Who can forget them springing President Bush's 20-year old DWI three days before Election Day 2000.

Blabs Boxer used it way back in '92 against Bruce Herschenson during her first run for the Senate, accusing him of having frequented a strip club. Herschenson had no time to respond before Election day. California has been saddled with Boxer ever since :-(

On another thread a Freeper posted that Biden was foisted or forced upon Obama. I thought that was a very interesting comment but not sure if true or not.

This is just a test to see just how many white people we have in the USA who are eaten up by white guilt!

If he wins perhaps they will be healed so to speak and the white guilt will leave them after he makes his first remarks about allowing all his Keyans relatives to move to America at your expense.

I am fed up with race politics and I am fed up with race period. the talking heads makes violently ill.

My favorite was Carville with the trash can on his head - I think 2002? I was stuck in a place where I had to watch CNN, and that moment made up for all the torture!

Exactly FRiend.

Democrat Dick Tuck, losing a California state race in the 1970s said, "The people have spoken, the bastards!"

It was widely regarded as a joking sort of farewell to future political attempts, but the fact is, Democrats AND Republicans have far too often treated the electorate just like that.

What we need in this Country, I am prohibited by FR posting guidelines from actually calling for.

Didn't someone describe comets as "dirty snowballs"?

All things considered the Republicans could do well this year except one little problem.......most of the Senate Republicans are worthless. Chambliss, Graham and all the rest of the spineless ones will kill any chance of taking the senate back with conservatives.

Folks that heard Saxby Shamebliss on Rush’s show sent him a snoot full of calls, letters and emails.
