I should never be shocked by the bad manners on the left but this stunt just might haunt them more than Wellstone's funeral. There is a key rattling stunt/taunt growing in popularity amongst the Democrats. Some may try to play it off as mocking him for having so many houses but the truth is that the jingling keys are to imitate the prison guards at the Hanoi Hilton. Whatever they're thinking they better stop it soon because even apolitical types will side with McCain out of sympathy if for no other reason. I learned the true meaning of this key rattle thing by lurking at DU. With over 200 responses to the thread it appears 50/50 in support/disapproval of the key rattling stunt. It's something that needs to be seen to be believed.

Author Robert Timberg mentions McCain’s intense explosions of anger -— a hallmark sign of lingering mental trauma from war — in his book “John McCain: An American Odyssey.” Timberg describes the episodes as “an eruption of temper out of all proportion to the provocation.” Timberg, who McCain has said “knows more about me than I do,” wrote that McCain’s sudden fury is a result of Vietnam coming “back to haunt him.” McCain has himself described having an adverse reaction to the sound of jangling keys, which reminds him of his Vietnam jailers. McCain also told doctors that during solitary confinement he had strayed pretty “far out” and had referred to himself as “mentally deteriorating.”

On the subject of exploitation - I wonder if these idiots realize they are discussing the future President of the United States and the proposed candidates including a former POW.
I would say they have some pretty questionable mental status “tells” in their own behavior - having not quite reached an adult level of rational thought.
As a group these lamers are regressed and have a deep seated need to be part of and loved within similarly non-threatening entities. In other words: More idiots.
Ok, it looks like the idea originated at KOS but not for prison key effect. Didn’t read all KOS comments. Maybe DU picked it up and twisted it to use as prison key effect.
