Remember the hot immigration debate?
The topic won't be headlining either presidential convention this year and the border security issue barely drew a crowd Monday to a daylong anti-illegal immigration rally in Denver aimed at keeping immigration before politicians this fall.
A rally by the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps featuring Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr drew just a few dozen people...

If anyone wants to actually have an impact on this issue, go ask politicians real questions on video, and then upload their responses to Youtube and other sites. Here are a few questions:

Well, that article should fry RightMarches ass since they were the ones claiming to be putting on the rally. They were even asking for large donations and putting out budget numbers.
I wonder if Simcox was also asking for donations?
I was listening in on the Denver PD scanner earlier today, and they asked if officers were still at the “Minuteman Rally”. This was at 3:00 p.m. - 3 hours before it was scheduled to end. A police officer replied that they had all left that rally and were at the Civic Center at that time.
Seeing as I used to be a Libertarian activist in Denver I have to say that I feel for these guys - it’s REALLY hard to get ANYONE to show up for rallies and such (getting Libertarians to come to a rally is like trying herd cats, IMHO) - particularly on the weekdays as most people are working. Combine that with the traffic and hassle of being there while the DNC people are there and you’ve got even bigger problems getting people to show up.
But the website said they were hiring private security guards...
Even if they were providing their own private security the DPD would still send a contingent to keep an eye on things - especially due to all the protesters in town for the convention. Things could get out of hand pretty easily were a large group to show up from either side, or both. I’m sure the DPD thought there would be more people there, really... Kind of sad only a dozen or so people were there. They really should’ve held it on a weekend, and NOT while the DNC was in town.
You mean this: “MASSIVE Anti-Illegal Immigration Rally at the Democrat Convention! August 25th!” http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2066224/posts

That'd make a good tagline.
RightMarches.....isn’t that Gheene’s doing?
IIRC this event was theirs and Minute Men were attending. In any event, if it was Gheene’s....I wonder when and why he changed his mind about making a VISUAL statement. Last I spoke to him he was solidly against it (organizing a VISUAL event that might fail if no one shows up) and I left Alipac because of it.
Bill Greene, I believe. I met him a few times, nice guy. But he got involved with the same mail list marketing group that the Keyes group uses and that disturbed me.
I’ve been saying the same thing about conservative street activism for 8 years. The two big efforts the Free Republic Network organized had 200-250 rallies across the country.
Conservative activism has to be local where you get better coverage from the press and it doesn’t cost people 1000-2000 to attend.
There stil are people on FR who haven’t got that message yet. They keep making the same mistakes over and over and then wonder why nobody shows up at their events.
I got a feeling that was more about raising $$ than doing anything effective.
Too bad, it happens a lot.
