Michelle Obama, in tonight's speech that she allegedly wrote herself, said the following phrase..........
Where the current of history meets this new tide of hope
That's pretty good, I said to myself after hearing that line......let me plug that into Google.
Well, I found this from a website detailing a quote by a Sir Paul Alfred Reeves of New Zealand........
where the river of history meets the tide of the future
For some reason, now I can only reach the cached Google page where the eerily similar phrase is referenced.
If the two phrases seem like too much of a coincidence, a better source for the quote is needed.
it may be everything.
I agree it’s too good for Ms. Obama, but it’s not exactly Noonan either. The Democrats have no imagination.
I wish we could identify which qualified white people didn’t get into Harvard, Columbia and Princeton because Hussein O and his hateful racist wife took their seats.
Any part in particular?
Yawn, who cares. It is petty and a waste of time.
Well, if you really want help, find a transcript of the speech and post it.

I once heard Sir Paul say that “where the river of history meets the tide of the future, we are bound to be caught in turbulent waters”. Dame Catherine Tizard Governor general to NZ
Most cheaters know this trick.
Ask Biden. He’s the expert on plagarism.
I love how the second paragraph of her senior thesis has THREE major grammatical/punctuation errors in ONE sentence.
Yeah, those Princeton standards weren’t dropped for her... LOL!
“It is petty and a waste of time.”
So was your post....
*grin*
... wasn’t that from a Joe Biden speech?
Brutus:There is a tide in the affairs of men.
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.Julius Caesar Act 4, scene 3, 218224
So, she threw in "hope"--whatta concept!
Michelle hashed together some cliches, some bromides, a pinch of the trite, a tablespoon of schmaltz, stirred it with a big hypocritical spoon and voila, crap.
She hates America in the way only one who "grew up in Jesse Jackson's house" can.
In a way which only one who wrote her thesis on woe-is-me-I'll-always-be-black-first.
In a way which only one who was [no doubt] heavily influenced by Bernadine Dohrn ca. 1988, the pivotal year of Finding Hussein the Messiah.
Sorry, Michelle, only one chance to make a first impression, and you are ashamed of America.
Then there's you supping with Edward Said.
And being struck dumb when asked what your daughters' favorite biblical passages are.
And no Christmas presents--
And woe is me I have only a 300K+ "job", full-time maid service, four-day-a-week personal trainer--"GIVE US SOMETHIN' HERE!"
Shakespeare you're not.
I just assumed that the words spoken by Reeves were from a prepared speech.
Thanks for your help.
Get this...
And that is the thread that connects our hearts. That is the thread that runs through my journey and Barack's journey and so many other improbable journeys that have brought us here tonight, where the current of history meets this new tide of hope.
That is why I love this country.
Sounds like Michelle Obama is excited to be throwing us into turbulent waters.
Someone posted in another thread a line from MO’s speech which was eerily similar to a line in an episode of South Park. BUSTED!
