Immigration reform faces new President[Amnesty]
The Denver Post ^ | 25 Aug 2008 | Brandi Grissom

Congress can adopt comprehensive immigration reform in the first year of a new president's administration, U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., said Monday.

"This has been a mess for decades but it's time to fix it," said Lofgren, chairwoman of the House Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security and International Law, "and that is the first thing the new president will face."

She was one of four speakers at a panel discussion in Denver on immigration and the next administration hosted by NDN, a progressive think tank and advocacy organization. The speakers, including a former Arizona border city mayor, advocated a comprehensive approach to reform and said a new Democratic president would promote a more effective strategy to control illegal immigration.

"It's up to us, working with our new president to put some sense into the whole framework of the law so it works for America," Lofgren said.

The speakers said immigration law must be reformed before the border with Mexico can be secured.

The enforcement-only strategy of the current administration is not working, they said.

The administration's plan of self-deportation, making life so miserable for immigrants that they leave of their own accord, is a non-violent form of ethnic cleansing, said Frank Sharry, executive director of America's Voice, a group that promotes immigration reform.

"What's happening is a moral outrage, and it's a policy debacle," Sharry said.

He said the conservative right wing's vilification of immigrants would alienate enough Latino and immigrant voters to give Democrats the political support they need to pass comprehensive reform.

"This is about whether we as Americans are going to include people or exclude people," Sharry said.

Marco Lopez Jr., incoming director of the Arizona Department of Commerce, said his state has partnered with Mexico to target criminals who are crossing the border and human traffickers.

But the former mayor of Nogales, Ariz., on the Mexican border, said the traffic from south of the border won't stop and the drug and human trade would continue until Congress changes the way immigration works in America.

"By doing nothing it is indeed silent amnesty," Lopez said. "People will continue to come because we need them to come."

The true legacy of the Clinton Kosovo policy.

No, immigration law must be enforced. "Reforming" it will only make it worse.

So how long before the McCain worshippers will be in here to tell us that he's really not going to sign an amnesty bill when he's elected?

She means: We have to get as many people as possible here before we make them and their relatives legal. It may be another 10 years before we get another chance at amnesty.

“This is about whether we as Americans are going to include people or exclude people,” Sharry said. “

What a lying, shameless piece of political crap this character is. This nation takes in, legally, more than 1,000,000 immigrants and refugees per year. But if we don’t also take in with no complaints, 500,000 - 1,000,000 (no one knows how many) illegal aliens per year, in addition to the legal immigrants, then we are “excluding” people.

Well, Mr. Half-wit, then that means we’re excluding about 6,500,000,000 people in this world, and several hundred million of those would love to come here. How many should we allow in, Mr. Sharry, so that you won’t accuse us of “excluding” people?

The fact that lunacy such as this can be spoken and find an audience of any size tells us how pathetically our elected reps. have handled this issue for decades.

I learned my lesson from every genius who said “You knew what you were getting when you voted for him” about Bush. If McCain loses they can blame themselves for firmly losing my vote. I’m writing in a conservative name.

Frank Sharry is a long-time, well known, high-profile open borders WHORE in Washington, D.C. A googling of his quotes would make you sick. He is paid very well, millions in fact, to do what he does, by the people who employ illegal immigrants and get us to subsidize their existence. They have provided him with a lifestyle most people can only dream of. When he goes all soft and kumbaya, I want to puke.

And successfully creating a Congress truly full of conservatives as a political majority in both the House and the Senate can successfully stop all amnesty for illegal immigrant legislation from ever happening at anytime in the future! Besides, it truly doesn’t make any sense for the present Democrat controlled Congress, with an approval rating of just 9%, to increase their numbers in January ‘09 and beyond. Conservatives truly need to successfully increase their political numbers at every political level, and for always, even if it also means successfully defeating all “RINO” Republicans at every political level!

Preventing an amnesty bill is why conservatives have to swamp the polls and vote conservative for house and senate candidates. If McQueeg wins he may be an O.K. POTUS if we can keep him from getting an Amnesty bill, or a Caps on Trade (global warming) type bill.

How can we forget? Every time we mentioned immigration enforcement, we heard it. Not this time.

Yep.

Amnesty never fixes anything, it only makes it worse but that's what Lofgren and the democrats obviously want as each new illegal that enters and gets to stay means another vote for them. Except what they don't understand apparently is that eventually even the Lofgrens will be thrown out and replaced by the former illegals own kind.

Well, yes. It defies logic how they believe they can “fix” a situation by rewarding those who are causing it. The only thing amnesty does it lay the groundwork for the next amnesty. How stupid Lofgren must believe her constituents, and the rest of us, are.
