An Iranian-born former student has been sentenced to up to 33 years in prison for plowing his SUV into a crowd at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Why doesn’t the headline and first sentence indicate that he is a Muslim and that this was a terrorist act? He admitted as much himself.

It appears that this ROP adherent was seen snickering or giggling to himself off and on during many of his court appearances according to WRAL.
I wonder if he’s giggling now.

What about the “W’s” of basic journalism, i.e. Who, What, Where, When, Why.
For the “who” part, is the most important fact really that this guy is a UNC grad???? Isn’t it more relevant that he is Muslim??? And for the “why” part, he himself admitted that he wanted to kill Americans in the name of Allah.

Afgani man did same to a BUNCH of people in downtown SF about a year and a half ago. The man was from Fremont, CA., which is down by San Jose.
Same thing - Flamboyant statements by press and authorities, saying it Had Nothing To Do With Terrorism.

No, no, no. You don’t understand the political atmosphere at UNC. In a few years, the man will be a campus hero. Pickets will circle the Old Well or march up and down Franklin Street demanding his release. All freshmen will be required to take an orientation course describing his life and thought. And a moment of silence will be observed before each football game until he is released and exonerated.
