Families have been separated and children are without their mother, said Pastor Roberto Velez of the Iglesia Cristiana Peniel (Peniel Christian Church) as he continuously worked to talk to many of those affected by federal agents roundup of illegal immigrants Monday. There are some situations where both parents are gone.
Pastor Roberto and Maria Velez have been faced with numerous questions from their congregants about the welfare of family members and peoples nationality.

We have been getting calls from everywhere, Velez said. Im receiving calls from everywhere about everything. Im getting calls from Mexico as well as many places in the United States.

Ogletree said the 350 people will more than likely be given court dates in either New Orleans or Oakdale, La. The 300 not eligible for the alternate monitoring will more than likely be detained in facilities, such as jails, that are under contract to house detainees. He said they will appear before judges for bond hearings and bond is usually set between $1500 and $10,000.
Ogletree said his main concern is for the families impacted.
You have a mother and father subject to deportation, but have children who are American citizens, he said. Its my belief it creates an extreme hardship on the children.

I have the solution: They can all reunite in Mexico or whatever other country they came from. Hmmmm, maybe I should run for president. LOL
I’ve read somewhere that the law is on the books that minor citizen children MUST accompany their deported parents. When they turn 21, they can come back.
Or something like that..
People move their families to other countries all the time. This isn’t any different.
No Eloria - they were AFFECTED. The IMPACT is a result of the actions AFFECTING them.
grammar grrrrrrr
The precedent was set by Elian Gonzales in Florida: children, even if U.S. citizens, should be with their parents, period.
Elian became a member of a protected class as soon as his foot hit our soil. To all intents and purposes he was a U.S. citizen. Sending him back to reunite with his father in Cuba set the precedent our govenment should be using in dealing with the families of illegal aliens here in this country.
The anchor children can apply for recognition of citizenship when they reach 18-years of age.
An even better solution to the anchor babies:
When you’re born, regardless of where, you get the citizenship of whatever your parents have. Now doesn’t that make a million times more sense?
In the case of parents with different nationalities, it could just be the choice of the parents, made when the birth certificate is filled out, so as to avoid “dual” citizenship problems (”dual citizenship” being meaningless).

Raid figure rises
The number of alleged illegal immigrants detained in a raid Monday at Howard Industries has nearly doubled, and could go higher, according to officials. They now say there are 595 suspected illegal immigrants.
“This is probably the largest single site target for law enforcement,” Immigration and Customs Enforcement Communications Director Barbara Gonzalez said.
About 475 people have been transported to the ICE detention facility in Louisiana.

Families have been separated and children are without their mother,
For Pete’s sake, get the kids and reunite them with their parents and kick them all out.

The solution is very simple and would have lasting and significant implications. Do what Mexico would do if they Mexican authorities found almost 600 Guatemalans in their country working as illegal aliens. Mexico could not say a thing and it would send a message.
Thanks, petitfour!
Do you know what the city of Portland did after the Del Monte Fresh raid?
They sent the Crisis Team to help the illegals, and wouldn’t allow LE to be involved.
Sick...

I don’t care anymore. 30 million illegals and millions of anchor babies is an invasion. Send them all home
I am in favor of the Fourteenth Amendment being clarified so that to qualify for birthright citizenship of the United States, a child must have been born of or adopted by a citizen or legal resident of the United States and that at least one parent or legal guardian must verify their own citizenship or legal status before a birth certificate is issued or recorded by any agency for that child. Any child born in the US not of a citizen or legal resident ought be issued a certificate of birth with a non-citizen status clearly marked so that birth cannot be used to complicate deportations of illegal aliens.
There is nothing to stop them from taking their “American” children back to whatever country the parents are citizens of. The parents chose to break the law. I’m really sorry they dragged innocent children into it, but they did. They need to stop whining. I’ve never heard such a bunch of whiners in my entire life (which makes me not inclined not to want to give them amnesty/citizenship).

That will never happen...because....it makes SENSE!

I wish SOMEONE would force ICE leadership and this administration to explain how they justify wasting our tax dollars... spending 2 years investigating, arresting illegals only (no employers), incarcerating, and deporting...when these people will be back tomorrow because the borders are STILL not effectively secured.
