Do you favor or oppose increased exploration and drilling of natural gas off the shores of Florida? Favor 62% Oppose 27% Undecided 11%
PING!
Considering the likely Bradley Effect, McCain must be blowing the Liberal Messiah out in Florida.
Every poll out there is showing McCain up in Florida though. Looks like they might not wind up being a true battleground state after all.
BTTT!
Wow that’s a huge lead. Looks like we have florida locked up.
The fact that a pollster is Republican does necessarily mean their numbers are skewed. In 2004, for example, the last Strategic Vision poll, conducted from Oct. 29 to Oct. 31, had Bush over Kerry by 4%. Bush ended up winning by 3%, which means SV was super accurate.
Ok, I have been informed it’s a GOP poll. (Take that FWIW.) But I think we are still up. There is no reason to lie and skew it that much (or at all).
bttt
5. Do you view President Bush as a conservative in the mode of Ronald Reagan? (Republicans only)
Yes 8%
No 71%
Undecided 21%
This goes a long way towards explaining Dubya’s polling numbers...
They ain’t as stupid as people make ‘em out to be!
The DNC’s convention is reminding the Florida Hillary supporters of how badly they were treated by the Democrat party honchos. They and the Michigan Democrats are still harboring grievances. It’s not just the pro-Hillary thing, but the unfairnes of it all.
Whenever I see a Hillary supporter I reinforce how badly she and they have been treated by the party and the news media. It’s a backhanded way of encouraging them to jump ship and vote GOP.
As a Floridian, I’m bemused by all the MSM pundits who are always blabbering about how important such states as Georgia and Michigan are. Of course, in a close election every electoral vote is important - maybe even the three from Joe Biden’s pissant state of Delaware. But Florida has the fourth largest number of votes IN THE NATION. Despite this, I seldom hear FL mentioned as a vitally important state in the election. I’m not surprised that McCain leads in the cited pole. FL not only has a Republican governor, U.S. Senator, and two-thirds of the state legislature, but a very large number of military people, retired as well as active.
Well Florida is a big battleground state.
Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, maybe Iowa and Minnesota are big battlegrounds. I think Florida has the most electoral votes of this group, so to have Florida in his back pocket is a giant step towards the White House.
I saw a poll that said North Dakota is in play? Can’t believe it. I don’t think either North or South Dakota went Democrat for president since the Johnson landslide of ‘64. South Dakota didn’t even vote for its native son McGovern in ‘72.
McCain may be peaking too soon. This give the MSM way too much time to hammer him relentlessly.

When the GOP or McCain ask for money to support McCain, print and send them one of these.
Vote Bob Barr.
My 76 year old father lives in Florida( Korean War vet). Old time democrat with a slight case of BSD. He has never voted for a Republican in his life. He told me in 1972 he did not vote for McGovern or Nixon, voted democrat but did not pull the lever down for McGovern. He said he will vote for McCain. Obama digusts him.
