T. Boone is still in the oil business. He sells oil in addition to the other things he does. If you think the oil companies are gouging you are economically naive!

Why depend on an outdated grid? Why pay for utilitys huge development and upgrades? Why would I want a huge wind farm generating station in middle America that is zapped to New York when they have wind available in close places like Nantucket and Cape Cod or off shore Long Island?

I think regional power grids are totally inefficient.
Unfortunately, urban dwellers have no other options except the grid. I think that energy makes more sense when produced by and for each community. Electricity becomes more inefficient the further it has to be moved.

I think energy production could be most efficient if each individual house, apartment, or whatever had it’s own small wind, solar array tailored for the needs of the end user’s electricity needs. My home, for example only uses an average of 1600 KW a month. But the power grid my home is connected to has megawatts available and I as a user pays for the potential availability when it will never be used for individual residential units.

Industrial demands are a different story. But why should I as a residential user have to pay to update and maintain the grid to guarantee industrial power availability? I could be quite comfortable with my own combination of wind and solar electricity, solar hot water, and solid fuel wood heating in the winter. The money consumers will be asked to lay out to upgrade the grid could go a long way towards purchasing individual energy stations. And with demand for those individual energy stations, the production will provide many jobs manufacturing and assembling the IES.

Just my idea here. Freedom is finding the way to get off the grid.

T Boone Pickens must have a good idea if Nancy Pelousey has invested $150K in his scheme. She can sell us energy, instead of the oil companies selling us energy, and reap huge profits.

It's a good hustle, zarkman. Remember, Pickens is spending a lot of his own money selling this story to us. We see windmills, but he's actually selling LNG - not a bad idea at all.

I don't have any spare cash, but if I did, I'd probably go with LNG. All my Do-Re-Me is in:BAMAR Plastics

I never pass up an opportunity to brag a bit. Stay well, pal ................. FRegards
