This was a 2001 article - in the intervening years we have seen waves of less predatory illegal aliens take over formerly black neighborhoods in most major cities and "leaven out" those areas, making them, if not paradises, at least less dangerous than they were.

It may be politically incorrect to say that, but I will agree with you. Lets also not forget that when the illegals and or hispanics move in, they actually OPEN THEIR OWN BUSINESSES, as opposed to the abandoned storefronts and occassional Asian-owned nail salon/take out joint that dominated previously.

I am all in favor of deporting the illegals yesterday, but will tell you that, at least in New York and New Jersey, they represent an improvement over the ghettos of the native born.
