Those billboards should also mention that Jim Crow was a Democrat, and that every KKK member was also a Democrat. Anti-lynching laws were passed by Republicans, as were the civil rights laws. A majority of Dems voted against the 1964 act, including Al Gore, Sr., and Robert Byrd, Clinton's mentor.

Southern Dems who loved their country and who were willing to adopt the GOP platform of civil rights without quotas were welcomed into the party. The GOP didn't change, its views remained the same.
