I spent a year at Great Lakes 20 years ago. Basic and BE/E.
Tequila was the poison for that brief stay.

Me too, BE/E in 82. Yeah, Tequilla was my poison too.
I was only 18 years old at the time and couldn’t drink in
town so I would go to Racine on weekends. I had a couple at
the Helms club on base but it stayed pretty dead. My daughter
was up there last year, it’s changed a lot since then. She’s
in San Diego now. I was an EM, you? Hubby an FC and kid is a
QM.
(yeah, the midget wasn’t something that I came accross either)
