Having served as governor of Alaska for less than two years -- and as mayor of a small town before that -- her qualifications for national office are minimal.

There is a point that needs to be made when this type of accusation is thrown out: we have a huge problem with our ever-increasing government, and entrenched professional politicians are a big part of the problem. We are to a point where I would rather see a Congress full of freshman elected straight from their private-sector jobs than I would a Congress full of people with "experience". A relative newcomer to the political scene will not have had as much time to be corrupted by the excesses and backroom wheeling and dealing that have turned so many decent people into socialist, often criminal morons after a decade or so in office. As far as I'm concerned, Palin's lack of exposure to political culture is a tremendously positive aspect of her candidacy. There may be some reasons to have reservations about her, but lack of experience isn't one of them.

I understand what you are saying, but where Obama squawks about “Changing” politics — Palin has already achieved what he could only dream of in her own state. She threw out all the corrupt “old boys” in Alaska, and the Dems are afraid the Barracuda will make it to Washington and throw them out next!
