All that attention combined with the good vibrations from the base delivered McCain a financial shot in the arm yesterday.
His online haul from the Palin pick: $4.49 million, per a campaign aide.

IMHO, this is just the beginning of a resurgence of conservative support and financial support for conservative values in American government.
The bucks will be impressive.
Thats very good,Nice
He got $200 more from Banquo and wife today.
PinG!
That sends a very clear message to McCain and the RNC!!
CONSERVATISM IS NOT DEAD AND WE WANT OUR PARTY TO GET BACK TO IT!!
I gave him $50 yesterday and bought some bumper stickers. I’ll send more next week. There was actually a point yesterday afternoon for a while where you couldn’t even access the ‘Donate Now’ or ‘Join the Team’ links on his website. It was THAT busy!
Tomorrow is the last day McCain can take donations. He then goes to public financing and can’t accept private funds .... those conservatives who have held back have one day only to donate. We really need to get this message out.
McCain got his first $$$ from the WPtG family yesterday. A few short months ago, such a thing would’ve have been thought impossible.
see my post #8 ... no more private donations next week ... people have to act now. We can put on credit cards now and pay the cc off next week.
Cleveland newspaper refers to Palin as “SUPERMOM FROM ALASKA PREPARES TO CHARM DC !”
Front page coverage with pics in a very lib newspaper.
I am in Cleveland for a wedding..the whole city is ecstatic except for the Rats, who are silent and depressed!
Sent mine! I can’t remember being his fired up about
the republican party since Reagan or when the Contract with
America threw the liberal trash out of Congress!!!!
Palin - the conservative future of our party!
I think he can accept financing until he accepts the nomination on Sept. 4th. Anyway, I suspect his website will forward donators to the GOP site when the time comes.
John McCain really changed the dynamics of this race by energizing conservatives. I hope each and every one of us takes that excitement and directs it to all conservative candidates, not just Gov. Palin and Sen. McCain.
I hope and pray you're right. I really think the GOP has a chance to take back the House if this excitement carries through November and down the ticket. Unfortunately I'm more pessimistic about the Senate. But having a split Congress that doesn't accomplish much wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing!

IMHO, we will have a split Congress, but that is good as an initial step, to at least break the Marxist hold on the Congress and their socialist legislation. If we can achieve that, we have done well.
I wonder if this morning the Dem strategists and talking heads are still talking about adding 30 more House seats, achieving the magical 60 seats in the Senate and taking the White House??
I imagine some are, but probably not nearly as enthusiastically! :-D
Just made our donation on the secure website—couldn’t do it on the john mccain one. Maximum is $2300 per person, $4600 per couple. Another freeper suggested putting “Sarah Palin” in the “referred by” window!
Here’s the post from another thread:
According to an email I received from the GOP
You may already know that I have decided to accept federal matching funds for the final months of this campaign- keeping a campaign promise I made. But that means that August 31st marks the last day I can accept your primary contribution.”
https://secure.johnmccain.com/Contribute/ContributeB.aspx
Please pass this on to everyone you know.
I was waiting for the VP choice... I finally ponied up yesterday too.
I gave $150 yesterday and they raised that money in only 6 hours. Impressive, most impressive.
