Interesting that MSNBC chooses to release this now. I think the idea is for people to watch this and ask themselves "this woman is fit to be one heartbeat away from the Presidency?"
But, of course, that was then (1988). And who wouldn't look like an amateur when delivering the news at the young age of 24?
BTW, there is no place which says this archival footage is from 1988 but the reason I know it's from early 1988 is because she's talking about NCAA basketball and Gregg Jefferies, whose first year in the majors wasn't until the Summer of 1987 (and her maiden name, Sarah Heath, is shown on the screen).
She married her husband a few months later.
You have to scroll down to see the video.

And why did they need to put the entire four minutes of her sports report on their home page? I could understand a 30-45 second clip, but four minutes?
the infowarrior
After all the time they spent reporting on Obama’s radical associations, this only seems fair.
Were you born yesterday?

Did not know that. I just don’t understand why MSNBC felt the need to put the entire four minutes on their home page, for crying out loud. Anyone who watches that 1988 video can tell this is a young woman who recently graduated from college and is going to stumble a bit when delivering the news. If you ask me, MSNBC is trying to make her look like a fool. If they’re going to show four minutes of footage of her, why not have it be something more recent, where she is at her best?
Is MSNBC saying that news people aren’t smart enough to hold public office?
So what, so she was employed in the MSM that proves what exactly MSNBC?
WE should look instead at Keith Olbermann’s trannyformation from Sports Anchor to Shitehead!
Why not? Full time-heretic/socialist Pelosi is now two-heart beats away.
Make that part-time, Congress is out on one of the many extended "breaks" they get every year...
Good grief, as long as it’s not a sex tape everything will be fine.
LOL. Yeah, yeah, I should just assume they always have an agenda. I just wasn’t sure if it was only me who thinks it’s unfair they put this unedited video of her stumbling through the news on their home page. Seems only to be up in order to make her look bad.
MAIN STREAM MEDIA NOW TRYING TO USE THE HATRED FOR THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA TO BELITTLE PALIN!!
ROTFLOL..
There must be nothing they can find on her to smear...so they smear themselves in an effort to smear her!!
PRICELESS!!
This just gives Palin more exposure and shows how desperate PMSNBC is to go that far back. Why not show a video of a high school play or elementary school oral book report. Then they can say “from elementary school to VP....is she ready.” What a bunch of complete asses. This will backfire big time. Palin is a dynamic and compellinig public speaker that puts all three of the other candidates to shame.
You can see MSNBC’s point. If I had to watch that barking moonbat, Keith Olbermann, everyday, I’d conclude that no former sportscaster should ever be anywhere near public office.
Not only is Palin a compellinig public speaker but she is also a compelling public speaker. Its good to be both.
Ya good point. Doesn’t MSNBC and all news organizations pride themselves on bringing us the latest news, by the most knowledgeable people in the business???? So news people should be among the best qualified to be in public office.
Golly! Gee!
Mebbe PMSNBC just wants us to pay close attention to Sarah Palin's younger days.
Ya know, so we won't ask questions about NObama-lama-ding-dong's.
I saw one news website which had a picture of Sarah playing basketball in high school. They didn’t use a current photo, they used a high school basketball picture of her. Unbelievable.
Yes, but why doesn't MSNBC put out a four minute video of her at her best on their home page? Instead, they drag out a 20-year-old video of a barely-out-of-college Sarah Palin somewhat stumbling through her news report, in order to make her look dumb, IMO.
