I liked Dan Quayle, and I thought he came off pretty sharp in one on one sessions. But in speeches before a crowd — he had the deer in the headlights look about him. A shame, I thought he was a good Senator and was a good government leader — but he was quickly turned into a caricature by the media — and there was nothing he good do about his ‘deer in the headlights’ problem (at least not in the two or three speeches/debates that I watched)...

Absolutely agree.

I still think he would be the best man for the job of President. The Dims knew this when he became the youngest Sen Committee Chairman ever and had to find a way to kneecap him. Photo-op at an elementary school spelling lesson where the teacher holds up the infamous alternate spelling, and the rest is history. Obama doesn't know within ten percent, how many states there are; or what committees he's on or not on, and it macht nichts.
