Democratic Congressman Robert Wexler of Florida lashed out Saturday at John McCain's choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate, accusing her of supporting "Nazi sympathizer" Pat Buchanan and branding the move an "affront to all Jewish Americans."

"John McCain's decision to select a vice presidential running mate that endorsed Pat Buchanan for president in 2000 is a direct affront to all Jewish Americans," said a statement by Wexler.

I think the liberals have lost it, and a woman pushed them over the edge. Three cheers for Mrs. Palin.

Let Wexler and all the other naysayers rant on. This pick, Sarah Palin by McCain is a judgement call. Judgement is the very item we all question OB on, judgement in his so called church, his block raising friends in Cook County, his criminal friends who financed his mansion, and his many many “present” votes in the 140 days in Congress...JUDGEMENT! Obama has done nothing but read a speech well, and Hillary Clinton told Americans so!

most strikingly on the issue of women's reproductive freedom - she is totally out of step with Jewish public opinion.

Gosh!

this i don’t understand about many people of the jewish faith

they continually vote democratic, when it is the republican and evangelicals who support isreal

what is it? are they self-hating jews?

i think because the middle east is not in their backyard, and they feel no threat, they have some weird allegiance to the dumocrats

i wonder if those who refuse to support israel would send their children to live in israel and face the terrorist bent on destroying israel

this has always puzzled me

Jewish Republicans, Alaskans praise McCain's VP choice

SNIP

The choice left the two Jewish congressman reported to be on the list of possible VPs - Virginia Rep. Eric Cantor and Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman - out of luck, but several politically active Alaskan Jews praised Palin's ties to the community.

"The Jewish community should be very excited that Sarah was selected. She has been very conscious of the Jewish community here in Alaska and now with the opportunity of her new position, she'll have the opportunity to look at the Jewish community globally," said Alaskan Republican Jewish Coalition member Terry Gorlick, who knows Palin well and has worked with her on several issues.

"Sarah's absolutely pro-Israel," he said, referring to conversations with her and comments she's made about Israel's security and its importance to the United States. He noted that as governor she signed a resolution honoring Israel for its 60th birthday.

You have to give poor Congressman Wexler a break and keep his statements in context. I mean, this is a guy who probably wakes up every morning and thinks that breakfast is an affront to all Jewish Americans because the toast isn't made from unleavened bread.

This confirms what a brilliant pick McCain made in choosing Palin for VP. It has driven the left insane.

He pulls the anti-semite card all of the time from the bottom of the deck.

But he doesn't look too hard for signs of antisemitism in his own party. In fact, he ignores them.

Well said. I’m puzzled too. You know, it’s the same deal in Canada. The Jews historically vote the Liberal Party, a party that favours abortion, loves the Hizbollah, supports gay marriage, etc., etc., ad nauseum. I just can’t figure it out. FYI: Michael Medved, a devout orthodox Jew, wrote a great book on this very question, called “Right Turns”, where he suggests all Jews should be voting conservative. His thoughtful reasoning makes compelling reading.

The fact is that Palin didn't endorse Buchanan in 2000, nor ever. Palin supported Steve Forbes in the GOP primaries that year.

Better get used to this. Wexler is swine, though that's an insult to the noble Porcine both wild and domesticated.

The reason Biden was picked was 1.) No one else would have the job or 2.) the pragmatic decision was made to "go negative." Going "negative" is NOT what most outside politics think that it is.

It is not used simply because "it works." Going Negative is a strategy employed when momentum in tracking polls indicate your opponant will be ahead of you on election day, even if you are ahead in the polls today. Negative nonsense statements have to be answered in kind. And the idea is to so disgust enough voters, particularly the sensitive who are on the fence, that a campaign effectively REDUCES overall participation in voting.

The hope is your "broken glass" supporters will outnumber the other side's voters who will crawl over broken glass to vote for the other side.

It is a particularly nasty illustration of the kind of cynical hypocrisy employed by the Democrat's nominee and his handlers. This is why the choice of Governor Palin was a brilliant move. Saying it gave "the Base" a reason to vote for McCain, rather than just against Obama is an understatement. It takes the hatchet out of the hand of Biden.

This authorized pronouncements by Wexler (who is not just an attack dog, but a RABID attack dog) is an indication that their determination to raise such a stink that good people will stay away from the ballot, leaving only their unwashed supporters to win a plurality, has been doubly reaffirmed.

Expect the Progressive Caucus, including Reid and Pelosi, to make more and more of these kinds of really nasty and outrageous statements. It is deliberate, not stupid. It is aimed at wearing down and clearing the field of the best Americans, leaving only the cruel and ignorant, who don't mind the stink, behind to vote November 4th. Don't be outraged. The only response to this sort of nastiness to to warn as many people as you can to batten down the hatches, maybe even turn the TV off, for the next 67 days. This is war, folks. And they will do ANYTHING, say ANYTHING, destroy ANYTHING to win. Immunized yourself against outrage because it causes hesitation.

After all, should anyone be surprised by such a statement coming from Wexler? This is his MO.

And Biden saying Israel will just have to "live" [sic!] with a nuclear Iran, is not a direct affront to American Jews?

FReepMail to be added or removed from this pro-Israel/Judaic/Russian Jewry ping list.

Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.

[T]hey continually vote Democratic.

As I pointed out in my post #1, the 'Rats are sensing a big swing in the Jewish vote toward the GOP this year. This has gotten them so disturbed that they are slinging mud every which way.

“isn’t wexler the one committing a fraud on the citizens of florida by claiming to live in the district when he did not?”

Yep, it's the same fool. What's even more dismaying is that the imbeciles in his district have repeatedly voted him back into office.....and likely will again.

It’s always been said, “The Jews live like Episcopalians, but vote like Puerto Ricans”.

Jews are about 2/3 liberal and 1/3 non-liberal.

Still when it comes to conservative opinion leaders, many are Jews like Krauthammer, Kristol, Prager, Medved, or even moderates Lieberman and Mortimer Zuckerman of the Daily News. The person who introduced me to economic conservatism was Milton Friedman, who also was an inspiration to Ronald Reagan.

The number one contributor to conservative causes and the GOP is Jewish . .. a billionaire who owns the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. He outgives George Soros, but isn’t mentioned very much. I think you will see a lot more contributions to the GOP than is generally mentioned.

Wexler is a direct affront to Jews and any sane American.

Not to mention a direct affront to boar hogs, whom he most closely resembles.
